Apologies in advance, if I didn't see something very obvious.
As mentioned in the title, I built UPBGE from source on a Win10 machine. Building ran fine without any errors, but as soon as I start it and press P to start the game itself, it crashes. I cannot provide a crash report at the moment, as I wasn't able to find one in the temp files.
have you tried a empty game?
to get your game from 2.79x to 2.83 you may need to port stuff 1 thing at a time.
There is no game I want to port, it's actually the first time I'm using UPBGE.
What is your gpu?

My GPU is a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970.
There seems to be no issue with the building process, as said crash also happens with the version you gave me. However, I tested v0.2 and it works completely fine.
@lordloki I tested the Linux build on my Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS installation (same PC but Dual Boot) and it works completely fine.

I'm sorry that I have to come back with empty hands but UPBGE doesn't crash in the way described on the website. Instead, when I press P, the program will freeze for about half a second and then just close and disappear from the task manager and therefor, I'm unable to create a crash dump.

it seems an audio problem. In Edit->Preference->system, could test the following things?
1- Change Sample rate to other values (commons are 44.1/48/96), after launch the game engine.
2- Change Audio device to OpenAL Soft, after launch the game engine
3- Change Audio device to SDL, after launch the game engine.
After testing all settings (and even 'Null') the problem still remains unchanged.

Numpy is available and testing it with commands from their quickstart tutorial also works.
I have uploaded a new debug build. Could you download it and execute blender_debug_log.cmd (is at same folder than blender.exe)

Unfortunately not even this works, when I press a key, after the debug info appears, to start 'blender.exe', a system error occurs stating that "the code cannot be executed because VCRUNTIME140_1D.dll could not be found. A new installation of the program might be able to solve the problem." (Not exact word-by-word message, as I translated it from german)
Arggg, I forgot to include VCRUNTIME140_1D.dll in the build. I just uploaded a new debug build with VCRUNTIME140_1D.dll included. Could you download again and test as in message above?

I had this crash too 1 time on windows, and on linux too.
On linux, last time I compiled using downloaded libs from svn, this wasn't crashing.
On windows, I think i deleted my build, updated the svn libraries, rebuilded everything from scratch, maybe also I reinstalled my graphic drivers (which handle sound via HDMI), and the issue wasn't there anymore, but i'm not sure about what fixed the issue.
I had this bug several times previously and iirc this was happening when aud module was initialized, and iirc it was there: PyObject *mod = PyImport_ImportModuleLevel("aud", nullptr, nullptr, nullptr, 0); and i don't remember exactly the end of the trace stack.
This bug was also reported by nestanquiero on linux, maybe we could ask him if he remembers how he fixed it (maybe it was tinkering with his OS sound settings > change default device, reinstall audio/graphic drivers if the sound is in HDMI...)

It seems that the crash occurs when we load the AUD python module (as you you audio device can not be initialized).
I'm going to make a new build with the audio disabled to confirm it.
Do you have the audio drivers updated?
