Undecimus: [MegaIssue] Inability to send pictures on WhatsApp

Bug
I can't send/upload on whatsapp any pictures after jailbreak. I can receive and download any media and send also vocal messages. The only problem is when i try to send an image.

Device:

• iOS Version: 13.1.3
• iOS Device: iPhone 11
• unc0ver Version: 4.0.2

Something which points out is that we all have ios 13.1-13.1.3. So maybe it’s because of this.

This is correct for sending photos, but I tried videos, even the first one will not go through

Yeah it works intermittently but not all the time. Send a series of pics
and occasionally the first one goes through

I think the bug is because you can only upload a limited amount of data. So voice recordings that take 3-4 seconds can be sent but voice recordings that take 40 seconds cannot be sent.

Just download A-Bypass from repo https://repo.co.kr/ and activate WhatsApp. Worked for me on ios 13 unc0ver 4.1.1

I found my solution. If you install “Liberty Lite” for bypassing jailbreak detection and switch on for Whatsapp, then switch off. Everything is fine then!

I've just re-jailbroken my device with unc0ver 4.2.1 and nothing. I've also tried the jailbreak bypasses mentioned above but none of them works....
What about fix this issue with Flex 3 Beta?? I was trying to handle it a bit but I was unable to solve anything, maybe someone better than me would be able to do it....

I'm heavy user of sending media by WhatsApp. As the jailbreak easy now, I restart the iPhone to go back to unjailbreak, then I can work easily with WhatsApp

If you have the latest app sync on Cydia, back up your WhatsApp data, download a duplicate of WhatsApp from http://duplicatorstore.com/
And transfer use that instead, worked for me, it’s a pain if you have loads of messages but it’s a good short term fix

unfortunately, v.4.3.0 and v.4.3.1 did not help us to solve the issue of sending media via WhatsApp (IOS 13.0.0 to 13.1.3)
hopefully, the coming version will do it

I don’t understand what it is meant by “heavy testing” if reported issues like this one still exist. Also, some testers claimed they had no WhatsApp or iMessage issues on 4.3 but they are obviously on 13.3, which doesn’t have these issues on 4.2 in the first place.

I had the same issue since Unc0ver v4.0, I have updated to 4.3.1 which was hyper to fix the issue, but it didn't, the issue is still there. Anyone got a fix or a workaround for this?

This is helpful. I can send up to 5 photos from Google Photos by "share to ..." whatsapp
But it doesn't work with videos
Also the photos quality will be less than when you send directly from whatsapp

Same boat as you guys.. I recently bought a iPhone 11 that came with 13.1.3 and the 13.3 signing window was already closed :(

What I've figured out is that I can forward any video (from Telegram, for instance) to myself on Whatsapp and it goes well. But if I select any other contact the issue appears.
If I forward from Telegram and select 2 or more contacts on WA, myself included, it will send just to me, and it throws error to the others.

I have the same problem. Found a workaround for images it works almost every time. While sending images put dots I usually put three dots ‘...’ in the description of image.

Ok, I discovered something unusual and might help to analyze this issue.
I disabled auto respreing option from unc0ver and hit the jailbreak button. then I got the window where it says OK -to respring- and view log.

I did not press on OK and switch to Whatsapp, WA CRASHED IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!!
I tried to open Whatsapp multiple times but the same result, it Crashes immediately
I have a whatsapp duplicate installed which has the same problem of not sending stickers while phone is jailbroken, it worked normally and send media + stickers normally!

afterward, I pressed [OK] in Unc0ver.
Original Whatsapp from appstore opened without crash but no luck with sending media.
Duplicate whatsapp stopped sending media and stickers after the respring!

I am suspecting that it is permission issue since whatsapp crashed at opening, i'm not sure.

Moreover, any picture can be send if you wait around half a minute, While videos and stickers cannot send what so ever

Yea you know why it’s a much better jailbreak which also exploits kpp so yea much better app support I always recommend people to use checkm8 if they can only use uncover if you have to I.e a12 and a13 I use both and I first hand see the difference in quality of the jailbreak

And it will work all though other things like backing up chat to iCloud might not work. That’s how I fixed it. Then just have provision sign it every 7 days. Hope this helps guys. Wow you’re right. Looks like they’ve been banning people for years. I had no clue. I’m not much of a huge WhatsApp user but I don’t wanna get banned. The only workaround that works is incredibly tedious if you have to do it every time you send content is:
-On Chrome on your iPhone (I had to install it just for this) go to WhatsApp web in desktop mode
-use some other device to take a picture of the Whatsapp QR on your phone
-scan that qr photo with WhatsApp
-use it on chrome (it has only 2 issues. No stickers and if you don’t use it for a while it reverts to mobile site mode.

I think i might have some insight on what’s causing the problem.
When downloading a whatsapp version from some tweaked appstore, sending stickers and media works normally.

I installed apps manager and checked the content of each whatsapp trying to find some differences

Here are the original whatsapp from app store that won’t send media when jailbroken

Also, duplicate whatsapp from othman duplicate store won’t send media normally and when i checked it looks similar to the original whatsapp

And here’s the tweaked whatsapp that sends media normally when device is jailbroken!!!!

As u see the tweaked whatsapp has no app groups bundles!!

I’m 90% sure that the problem is related to these App groups bundles, maybe for there is a bug unc0ver that breakes these bundles in ios 13.1.3

Has anyone tried the new Akusio Repo - KernBypass that came out yesterday? It's supposed to be a kern level jailbreak detection bypass, wondering if this might be a potential fix?

So far I'm just using the workaround of waiting 5 seconds before sending images, but this is annoying and doesn't work with videos.

3. I was using Whatsapp with the tweak, two weeks later found it's not backing up. So, I deleted Whatsapp and the tweak, cleared cache as a safety measure. Installed JBPwn Whatsapp and then installed whatsapp from app store, later the tweak as well. Everything is working fine now as it seems.

It’s a workaround and basically u will not use the original WhatsApp from appstore but a tweaked one after u backup and restore ur files to it.

Still waiting for actual fix!

I was advised not to use tweaked version of WhatsApp, you will get banned permanently for using tweaked or 3rd party WhatsApp.

Is anyone else having trouble signing unc0ver with ReProvision? A little over an hour ago I downloaded it from AppCake and signed it fine. But it was the old one, I guess AppCake was upgrading it at that very moment. 10 minutes later I tried downloading/installing it again and it was actually the new one. So then I tried to sign it with ReProvision and I get a “null” “error” message I’m able to sign other apps but it won’t sign unc0ver. I even tried signing the old one and it won’t sign either. I get that null error message and then the uncover app deletes from my phone. It’s like if apple was blocking it or something. I wanted to have it ready on my phone so I can easily upgrade to iOS 13.5 later on at night and jailbreak again quickly.

Things I’ve tried with no luck.
1.reinstalling both apps AppCake and ReProvision.

1. Used another iTunes account I had
2. Installed the original Unc0ver from original site by downloading it from my phone then using Filza to move it to

/var/mobile/Containers/Data/Application/AppCake/Documents

Which is where AppCake stores it’s downloaded .ipa’s then installing it with AppCake.

The app opens up and it seems like it works fine. But it will probably only open in a jailbroken state.

Updated: finally got it to work with duplicate/custom build on AppCake. It could of also been the fact that I closed AppCake and reprovision after it installed. And then opened reprovision to sign it.

if we jailbreak IOS 13.1.3 with unc0ver 5.0.0, the issue still exists. But when we update IOS to 13.5, then the issue will be solved with unc0ver 5.0.0

Guys this problem if fixed, only thing you have to do is update to iOS 13.5 until Apple still singing that firmware, then jailbreak with Unc0ver 5.0.1 and that’s all. Enjoy it 😊

He's trolling. If you are on 13.0 - 13.1.3 you are screwed, since the signing window of iOS 13.5 is closed now. Only fix is updating to an higher iOS

Why don’t you try jailbreaking with odyssey beta 3 to see if that fixes the issue? As soon as you jailbreak install WhatsApp from the AppStore before you install any tweaks and see if it works. I went from
Uncover to odyssey on my 2 phones and I kind of like it. I’m on 13.5. so I don’t have the WhatsApp issue. The only thing is the success rate of the jailbreak isn’t as good as unc0ver but once the jailbreak is running it’s great. Better in my opinion. Don’t get me wrong...uncover is great in terms of stability but every now and then my phone would freeze for about a minute. And Apple Pay would freeze up on me as well. I’d also sometimes get battery drainage to the point where I’d have to reboot the phone to fix it.

The fastest solution was update iOS 13.5 when it was sign by Apple but unfortunately Apple don’t sign iOS 13.5 anymore. Or you can wait future restore work full.

Use futurerestore to upgrade to ios 14.3 and re jailbreak with Unc0ver 6.1.0 I had same issue on ios 13.1 but I upgrade to iOS 13.5 and that fix stickers and else
