Umbraco-cms: V8: Import Document Type does not work

I tried to import document type but after I select *.udt file nothing happens

Steps to reproduce:

1. export document type from one website
2. on a different website use "Import Document Type" option on Document types menu
3. select *.udt file from local drive
4. Nothing happens, no new button appears, the import is not starting

@yaplex I can't reproduce this - Works On My Machine with a simple doctype on vLatest:

Can you check the dev tools console output and network traffic for suspicious errors - and if that doesn't yield anything, maybe check the logs for clues?

@kjac I have this issue in 8.0.1, but I just tested using the latest source code and I see the issue is fixed.

Just FYI, you were right, it was an error in the console, the error message is below.

Unfortunately I'm still getting the same error using 8.0.2 - cleared the browser cache, updated ClientDependency version number, set read/write permissions on the TEMP folder to Everyone, had the upload file in E:\file.udt, stopped the project and Visual Studio all to no avail.

It is uploading it into the temp directory as I can see it appearing when I click on the Import button and the error is still on the path2 property being null.

Any suggestions to get this to work? I'm upgrading/rewriting a fairly large site from latest V7 to V8 so there's a fair number of document types I would like to import rather than have to rebuild from scratch each time (although I am taking this opportunity to redo a lot of the doc types to tidy them up a bit)

The fix will be part of 8.1.0, we only put a number of specific fixes in 8.0.2, this one did not make it.

No problem Sebastian, gives me a good opportunity to review the documents that I have created for the old site and take out all the duplicate items, things I'm not using and things that looked like a good idea at the time but actually were more problem than they're worth - and correct the spelling mistakes that you just leave because it's easier to do that than refactor half your code :-)

Are there any workarounds on this bug?
