Multiple ad/tracker requests and ad frames are created on http://www.latimes.com due to numerous whitelist filters in EasyList (added to tackle anti adb). Blank ad spaces are also visible all over the page.

About the whitelisting, EasyList seems to think latimes.com uses Instart Logic, which it does not and never did, as far as I can tell. They whitelist basically all 3rd party image formats known to man, so I would have to override every one of them and check that nothing breaks. I will override unnecessary 3rd party script exceptions.

g00 ads should be blocked in uBO Extra. Also recommend blocking the ad and tracker requests and hiding the ad spaces.

The amount of whitelisting is crazy. A simple search for baltimoresun.com|boston.com|calgaryherald.com on https://easylist-downloads.adblockplus.org/easylist.txt will show you that there are more than 450 whitelisting filters for Instart Logic!

What should be done about this? This seems a bit extreme to me.

1. Using the logger I can see that for this specific site there is a generichide filter, which was overruled by an important filter. If I use badfilter, the logger indicates nothing, just that there is no generichide filter, which is not unusual.

The IL code is not prevented from executing on metacritic.com, it is just fooled into thinking the dev console is opened and thus it prevents itself from disguising 3rd-party requests as 1st-party ones. This means that yes, you will still find IL cookies in there.

WOW that actually works!!! Removing the script prevents it from executing! I always thought beforescriptexecute event is required, but guess not...

After some further testing, it seems MutationObserver isn't that reliable... Actually, it works like a charm with DevTools open but sometimes misbehave when DevTools is closed.

Could be related to cache handling, the script during insert event doesn't always have textContent.
