Trilium: Using Application and Filesystem URIs

Is it possible to use application and filesystem URIs in Trilium as external links?

For the filesystem, I am on Windows, so my filesystem uris are in the format file:///C:/users/documents/.... In version 0.40, clicking on the link inside the note did nothing, but clicking on the link in the Attributes widget works. In version 0.41, same result inside the note, but the Attributes widget @externalLink is no longer hyperlinked - it's plain text.

Application URIs are not working in either version.

Easy Bug

I'd really love to be able to do this. I tried the same file:/// uri on Macos and also got nothing.
It'd be great to be able to use this to link to filesystem files.

Hello, there hasn't been anything done around local and application URIs so current behavior is kind of undefined in this regard ...

I understand this is a low-priority item. All of the knowledge management apps I've used don't support this. I always assumed this would be an easy feature to support interoperability, but perhaps it is more complicated than I think. I've never researched the technical requirements.
