This might mean that somewhere we will need to make a note of the skills we have within the team and open other languages up for contribution.

I voted twice because I believe both R and Python are accessible and powerful tools for research and that we have the expertise within the team to cover them both 馃槉
I've voted Python as that's what I use myself, but I agree with Sarah that within the team we can cover both Python and R. At this stage, I'd favour more content over adding further languages - happy to revisit that later.
I think we should include a more traditional, compiled language too, maybe C++?
Does anyone in the team have the experience to cover C++?
I know a little C++ but it's been years. Enough to read it ok but not to write it .
Closing this as I think it was more a workshop issue rather than something for the book and going forward, I think we will just be happy with whatever people contribute.
