Similar bug. New version has been published to Microsoft Store but it does not update nor automatically neither manually.

Just realized I installed microsoft-windows-terminal through chocolatey on this Surface Pro 7. I used choco update microsoft-windows-terminal and it worked a treat.

Downloaded 1.0.1401.0 msixbundle and installed it without problems but Microsoft Store still sucks.

Btw, winget (Microsoft's new package manager) shows the correct version. Although I've yet to verify it, when I tried to install the terminal by calling winget from the terminal (I know, it's odd but I wanted to see what would happen) the terminal closed and now the install command is failing with a connection error.

UPD: After many more failed attempts I was finally install/update the terminal through the winget:

I downloaded a package from https://github.com/microsoft/terminal/releases/download/v1.0.1401.0/Microsoft.WindowsTerminal_1.0.1401.0_8wekyb3d8bbwe.msixbundle and update was successful.

Earlier I tried to update through chocolatey and it seems to work but when I checked the About I still had 0.11.1333.0 and the Windows Store didn't notice any update so I had to install it manually.

Hey sorry to leave this thread silent for so long - it's been a busy month for us.

It sounds like most of the issues people mentioned in this thread so far have been resolved by other workarounds - either installing the update from choco (if that's where you originally installed it from), or installing the .msix manually, or installing via winget.

If people are still having problems installing 1.0, we can reopen this and attempt to investigate more, but this thread doesn't look like it has anything actionable in it anymore.
