The app name is same as official telegram. because of this, Android will not let users to install both telegram FOSS and official telegram at the same time. but if you change the name, there wouldn't be such limitation.
You mean the application id? Why would one install Telegram and Telegram-FOSS parallel? Both support multiple accounts...
Because telegram Foss doesn't update so fast, so official telegram can be used before new release of telegram Foss
@mmrabbani , changed app name would be nice, but !!! before, when telegram-foss was started ! but not now !
it could bring many inconviniances for all using it now !!!
@mmrabbani , if you need the 2 apps together, you change the app name by yourself, sign it and use.

You could also use Shelter to set up a work profile and install the non-FOSS Telegram there....
I'm thinking about it for a long time
Funnily enough, it would have massive effects
without an easy option to backup and restore the secret chats it would be a no-go for me.
i want to do it
It seems that the change was made without any problems, at least that's what I see on my phone: 芦Telegram-FOSS v6.1.1 (1947) universal armeabi-v7a armeabi禄.
@sebasarena What you see there is the name of the application, rather than the "application id" or "package name" that is actually meant in this issue. This is a unique string which identifies an android application, usually in the form of "tld.domain.application". In the case of Telegram this is "org.telegram.messenger".
If there are two applications out there with the same application id, android will be unable to tell them apart - it won't allow both of them to be installed at the same time because it thinks of them as just two versions of the same application.

Well, sorry for misunderstanding...
