Could you provide some information about Shikimori? Is it available only in Russian? How long has it been around? How many active users does it have? How many people would benefit from having Shikimori support in Taiga?

At a glance, it does seem to have a proper API. But I'm not sure if adding support for a non-English service is a good idea, especially if there aren't enough people around to use it.

Well, yes, the most part of site is for russians, but also have an english interface.
Thats a most popular alternative for myanimelist in Russia

U could see statistics down there https://shikimori.org/about

Also they soon planned to start english-speaking domain

They exist since 1st January 2011 (but i'm not sure)

Hi! Any updates on that one? Their API documentation was updated since this issue was created (currently at https://shikimori.org/api/doc/1.0)

english domain is up https://shikimori.one/

shikimori's database is parsed from myanimelist (http://myanimelist.net/anime/30 - https://shikimori.one/animes/30)
therefore should be no difficulties in importing xml from MAL and exporting it back

any news? want this feature too >w> two years have passed
