Using Win+L in a Linux client (could also apply to other clients) causes the Win/Super key to get stuck on the Windows server. It can be unstuck by pressing the Win key, but usually you only think of this after you've typed a few words and chaos has ensued on your Windows PC.
Using Win+L in the client causes the Window server to lock, and there's no way to prevent that, so the keystroke has to be disabled. Disable the Win+L lock screen keyboard shortcut following this guide:
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/disableenable-lock-workstation-functionality-windows-l/
Win+LE, D or M on the keyboardThe letters "e", "d" or "m" should appear in Notepad
"My computer" pops up, or the desktop is displayed, or all windows are minimized, depending on what button you pressed.
I can confirm, this affects me too. 1.8.5-stable-a18eba7
I can try 1.8.6, but I doubt it will fix the issue.
I can confirm that I get the same problem with 1.8.8-stable-c30301e.
This happens even if you don't disable Win+L on the windows machine, but the result is that both machines get locked and typing the password will fail (for some password) until you unstick the windows key by pressing it once.
Any official comments on this? I still have this problem, and it still bites me in the ass many times every day. It is undoubtedly the greatest source of frustration in my work life at the moment :P
Are there any plans on solving this issue? This becomes really frustrating as CMD+L selects the browsers address bar on a Mac client and is used constantly.
I can also confirm this bug happens for me with 1.8.8. Windows 7 server, Linux (Debian testing) client. Both running 1.8.8 stable 64 bit.
For me, it happens when I move to Linux with the mouse, do stuff a bit (typing, etc, may include pressing of the Win key) then move back to Windows, then the Win Key may be stuck. It does not happen everytime, but it's often enough to be quite annoying. I'd say it happens about 4 out of 10 times.
Has anyone here tried Synergy 2 and do you still have this Win being stuck issue?
Edit: managed to reproduce the bug on Synergy 2 too. Seems to be less frequent, but the bug is there. (2-3 times a day maybe)
