Looks good! To complement the colour of the FAB, we should consider adding more colour and vibrancy to the the site itself without hampering the minimalistic feel.

Might sound OTT but something as simple as these moving circles in the background, low opacity, would do a sufficient job.

Also, I hope the FAB covering the ad banner (a little) should not be an issue

A nice to have: Hover text telling me what the button does.
Right now I can see myself thinking that it is just notifications about some event on the site.
Or maybe change the icon to something else?

The New to devSwag button isn't very noticeable in the desktop version and at the same time its tooo huge in the mobile version.
