This is a bit of a meta issue, not sure if it's the right spot for it, but I think there's some value in having it somewhere. Please move/delete if it's in the wrong place.
I can see that we've finally have an Open Collective page for Svelte. Super great! Not sure how much it has been discussed but here are a few ideas on how we can get even more sponsors for the project:
Who cares? it's useless.
https://vuejs.org has a section on their page with a list of sponsors. We could add something similar?
It's worth noting that in many parts of the world sponsoring (by companies) require they get something in return for tax reasons. This would be, for example, a banner/logo on the website or on the GitHub page.
Wow, I'd never heard that before. Do you know of an example country where that's the case or have any more details on that?
Sweden, and I'm sure most other Scandinavian countries. Probably the same for a lot of other EU ones as well.
At least in the case of Sweden, the case is that there must be a direct return of something tangible in the form of, for example, advertising placement. To be clear, it's not illegal to sponsor stuff, you just can't write it off as en expense.
