i am liking svelte even better than vue. Is there a job board for svelte like there is for vuejobs.com?

Yupp. It's good, it's done, it will back the project and community. That settles this issue for me. A link from svelte.devsveltejobs.dev would be cool.

I like how perl does it jobs.perl.org

I guess we'll have to make one, can't assume that sveltejobs.com is: a) going to developed, b) related to _this_ Svelte—unless of course the owner comes forward and clarifies. The next logical question is: will it be part of this organization and/or attached to svelte.dev as @chovy suggested?

In any case, if a repo is set up, count me as a contributor. I'm sure others have had the idea and are willing to contribute but are on the fence because they're also wondering if something is underway.

Otherwise, I'll just start building one... I want a Svelte job🙂. There must be some savvy companies out there who see the light and want to break free from the React herd.

sveltejobs.com reads oddly. It kinda makes my mind think "Steve Jobs" instead. Perhaps another name?

vuejobs.com appears to have had less than half a dozen jobs posted in the last month - so I'd suggest sveltejobs.com not commercially viable.
I too would be happy to contribute to a svelte jobs board.

I can start a repo if you setup jobs.svelte.dev domain. I’m not willing to put in the work if it’s some other 3rdnpart managing it.

...if you setup jobs.svelte.dev domain.

👍 for that. I think that would yield the best result, both in terms of development and traction.

Having it attached to svelte.dev, which btw is a wonderful site with amazing docs (🎩's off!), seems like the _sveltish_ thing to do. It would naturally extend the utility and integration inherent to Svelte and feels aesthetically balanced to me.

I guess the core members must weigh in.

Can also be used to help fund the project. Job listings go for $199/month
these days

Who maintains a jobs board under the Svelte domain?
Who ensures quality of postings?
Who governs what can be posted?
Who expires old or cancelled jobs?

I like the idea, but there might be some significant overheads.

On one end of the spectrum it could be a paid service requiring dedicated maintenance like vuejobs. On the other end of the spectrum it could as simple as a category on a discourse forum, which also exists for vue.

A discourse forum (or something similar) may be a good idea regardless of a jobs board. The Discord servers are great but will likely hit bottlenecks as Svelte grows. Plus, forums are easily moderated.

Btw did anybody spot this? https://madewithsvelte.com/jobs

That looks more generic frontend jobs. I see a lot of react jobs.

@chovy yes, as the footer tels, it's just an aggregator with fancy name

Hi all! I am one of the creators and maintainers of vuejobs.com.

@LauraBonmati and I created Svelte Jobs a few weeks back: https://twitter.com/sveltejs/status/1185243958806495232
So far, we just aim to be listing Svelte related opportunities in a single place, hand-picking. It's a free service and hope to be able to grow next to Svelte.

If at some point we are big enough to move to a paid service, the plan is to act right like VueJobs for the Vue.js project (backing the project) and community (meetups/confs/...).

Great stuff @IsraelOrtuno

@chovy @Conduitry I think this can be closed on account of the great work by @IsraelOrtuno ??

sveltejobs.dev is the one I use. Is that what you're referring to?

That would be lovely!! 🙂

sveltejobs.dev is linked to from the svelte-community site, which I think is a much better place for the link than on svelte.dev. Closing.
