When creating a new email or selecting an template with attachments the email removes the attachment on sending. This only happens on 7.11 and was working fine on 7.10.
Email should send with an attachment
Email removes the attachment:

1) Create a new email
2) add attachment
3) send email - check the email received
Hi there @liamvaughan
I could not replicate this issue, Could u tell me what type of file you are putting into the attachment?
Thanks
Hi @cameronblaikie,
Its both word documents and PDF files.
It attaches to the email then strips out once sent.
Thanks
The error is that it could not access the file. Are file uploads definitely successful within your CRM in other modules such as documents, notes etc? I will test this in 7.11.x
@willrennie @liamvaughan This should be resolved by #6938. Let me know if you still encounter this issue on 7.11.3 and we can re-open.
I have experienced this problem in v7.11.3.
Steps:
1) Create email in "Email - Templates"
2) Upload attachment. Save Email Template
3) Create campaign, send email Template with PDF attachment as test to several accounts
The PDF is not included when recieved.
I did one more test.
1) Click on email address from list of leads
2) Select email template from list of available templates. Note, the email composer shows an attachment in the email message.
3) Send.
No pdf in the message on the recipient side.
I'd like to take the opportunity to point out that based on my testing of 7.11.3 sending images in emails when editing from Moziak does not work either, despite being reported as fixed.
I commented as such at: https://github.com/salesagility/SuiteCRM/issues/5662
Code wise these are likely unrelated. However, it reduces the capability of email campaigns to sending only text messages thereby likely reducing response rates.
@Dillon-Brown i can confirm that this issue persist in latest 7.11.3 version. Tested also on fresh installation.
This is resolved in 7.11.4
@liamvaughan i think that issue can stay open.. because as in issue #7271 isn't possible to check if is adding the attachment. @Dillon-Brown can i open separate issue?
@jfd118 did you test this issue again in uprade 7.11.4 with campaign if is adding the attachments into emails?
Hello Mausino. We will upgrade to 7.11.4 this week and test it.
Thanks,
jfd118
I tested it and it still did not work. After a document is uploaded, the template includes a link to the file. Mousing over shows the link to the file. When I select that link the document downloads. This suggests to me that for some reason when the email is sent, it is either not finding the document or it is prevented (due to permissions?) from using the document as an attachment.
Fixed by #7154
@Dillon-Brown I did those changes #7154, did R&R in admin and still if the email template has attachment and is used in email... the attachment didn't add to sent email. Also in compose view isn't visible that attachment was added from Email Template
Hi @Mausino, that sounds like a different issue than what I was seeing. Is the problem that you can't see attachments when using the email module -> compose with email template functionality?
The issue I was able to replicate was only through sending campaign emails that use templates containing attachments.
Hi, @Dillon-Brown when i look on issue description is see there
When creating a new email or selecting an template with attachments the email removes the attachment on sending. This only happens on 7.11 and was working fine on 7.10.
Expected Behavior
Email should send with an attachmentActual Behavior
Email removes the attachment:
And i see that you commented by 2 hours that this issue is fixed by #7154
I tested the code and this didn't solve the issue.. that email template which has attachment isn't added into email and didn't send...
Here i see 2 problems:
@Mausino Ah, sorry for the confusion. I was actually referring to the comment here: https://github.com/salesagility/SuiteCRM/issues/6968#issuecomment-486023654.
I'm not able to replicate either of those two issues you mentioned, It might be because I'm on 7.10.x though, I'll play around with 7.11.x and see if I can replicate.
