Going to Activities -> Emails -> Create (not Compose) provides a form with just the fields: Assigned to, Related to and Category.
Choosing a lead, and assigning category of archived, this will show as an email in the history section for the given lead.
Editing this record again just provides a form with the above 3 fields. There is no way to edit the body, subject or date of the record.
The use case here is that an email has been sent several days ago for a given lead via an external email client (i.e. Outlook). I wish to create a record of this email, along with the correct date and time. I cannot do this using a note, since it does not provide a date/time.
I do not wish to send an emial again; and so cannot use the compose email tool. I do not wish to save a draft email as it implies the email has not been sent.
I am left with the only option of using a "Call" record to keep a dated log of this activity.
It is unclear whether this is because the edit archive email form is not working (i.e. it is missing the necessary fields to edit the body etc) or if this is a features/use case that is not catered for.
It should be possible to create a record of an email that has been sent via an external email client.
There does not appear to be any way to acheive this; including using the Activities -> Emails -> Create option.
It should be possible to create and edit Archive email records to set the date/time sent, body, subject etc. (possibly when logged in as admin only).
this is high priority; it is necessary to keep a complete log of communication with a lead in one place being a fundamental feature of a CRM.
Docker container using Bitnami environment with php 7, ubuntu 16 and Suite 7.10.2-r2.
Also is there issue if you import email from SENT folder of emails
It does not provide fields for date sent, time sent, subject or body and imported email has no value
I think the bug is important. A lot of ppl create email by use this way.
