Seeing 15. Bxf6?? reminds me that Lichess caps AI Level 8 maximum search depth at 22 plies, and that doesn't guarantee that SF will look 22 moves deep in all variations. It might be interesting to raise (or remove) that limit for AI Level 8, although then Zug miracles might no longer be possible!

Adding null-move search helps (previously this takes 12 seconds to find) although:

• that mate in 5 still takes 5 seconds to discover
• changing the constant from 4 * ONE_PLY to 2 * ONE_PLY slightly improves (from 5 seconds to 4.2 seconds)

I am trying to improve mate finding by reducing or turning off SEE pruning of checks (and/or captures) in crazyhouse, because 20... N@g3+!! (after 20. Kh1) seems to be the move that SF misses up to relatively high depths.

In lichess.org/O74CUwDv/black#42 Stockfish has difficulties finding forced mates starting with N@g3+, especially after Q@f6. I will retry an idea that had already been tested before the hash fix (I do not remember why I stopped the test).

As far as I can see, the only functional change for crazyhouse since my comment was the tweak of piece values, so this seems to have solved the issue for this position. However, I think we still need search tweaks for the case of many pieces in hand.
