Currently, the custom/advanced graphics settings have a name and nothing else. I鈥檇 like the graphics settings to be documented in the options screen, preferably using tooltips.
What I鈥檇 like is something like what Minecraft OptiFine does. For every graphics setting, it has an explanation what it does, what different options mean, and what the performance impact is, e.g. for anti-aliasing:

STK release version: 0.10 beta 1
STK source: official tarball
System: Ubuntu 18.10 x86_64
Graphics card: Intel HD Graphics 620
CPU: Intel Core i5-7200U

Or, a most complicated, but surely even more welcome from my part, would be a setting page showing of directly how these effects would apply, with a couple of screenshots with the different settings proposed in order to showcase these differences better.
For a list covering the graphics options and their approximate performance costs: https://forum.freegamedev.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=14333&sid=adf5e01a565792a8cb3e698bb1c60f07#p93958
If this comes, I am happy to translate into German (if needed).
Would it be possible to have some kind of auto-setting? I.e. let the code run some tests to check which settings are optimal for the available hardware. I know that this might be too complicated and that some settings depend on the track (e.g. number of lights), but maybe it is possible.
