0.9.2-rc1, Advanced Pipeline turned on, karts do not show in the kart selection screen, and the entire race is just a black screen + the overlay with the position, speed, etc. Latest driver, Win 7.

According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All-in-Wonder , the "All-in-wonder HD" GPU was released in 2008. IS this the one you are using? If your GPU is indeed this old, indeed it's unlikely the advanced pipeline would work, that's expected

The cards in the GeForce 8xxx series were released from 2006-2007, and are the minimum recommended, and this card is faster than them and newer by 1-2 years.

Yes, though the minimum recommended is for graphics at the lowest levels. The advanced pipeline usually requires something more powerful

@qwertychouskie sure, but support for old nvidia graphics cards is much better than for ati/amd.

Based on our graphical restrictions file, we require catalyst drivers at version 14.300 or higher. If you use catalyst drivers and they are lower than 14.300, you should see a warning that your drivers are not recent enough. But it checks only "Radeon" word in graphics card name, so this warning won't be displayed in your case.

I should also mention that Minecraft works on the card just fine, I did not even have to update the drivers for it to work.

Yes, a completely different game which can reportedly run with OpenGL 1.3 works fine, so one requiring 3.1 not running makes no sense! It's the same numbers after all; how different can they be?

Yes, your graphics card has OpenGL 3.3 support and that's good. But it doesn't mean that your drivers doesn't have any bugs that causes graphical glitches. It also doesn't mean that your graphics card doesn't have any hardware issues (see for example SSAO bug for intel graphics cards which was caused by hardware limitation).

Of course it should be possible to make a workaround for this issue. But I personally don't have any Radeon graphics card. It also looks that it doesn't affect many people.

Re Minecraft: OpenGL 2.1 is mostly fixed-pipeline anyway. It is possible to use shader-based pipeline with GL 2.1, but it is very limited.

Closing, since https://github.com/supertuxkart/stk-code/pull/2523 was merged, and the worst bugs in the legacy pipeline were fixed. A card this old won't handle the advanced pipeline well, and the legacy pipeline actually looks better than the basic pipeline.
