Android developers are changing things, create problems, give error warnings, but not a solution.....to think about this.....

Hi,
This indeed solved the problem.

Minha solução é fazer downgrade do google-services para 4.2.0 por enquanto

classpath 'com.google.gms:google-services:4.2.0

Funcionou, agradecido

Not working change 4.2.0 from 4.3.0 result ERROR 1

The solution is to downgrade the classpath 'com.google.gms:google-services:4.3.0' in build.grandle to classpath 'com.google.gms:google-services:4.2.0'
If that doesn't work...go to your gradle.properties file and include android.debug.obsoleteApi=true...
Make sure you keep 'com.google.gms...' at 4.2.0

Hi,
This is a solution for short term, but will we have to downgrade this for
all our apps the next 10 years ? Or is a real solution coming ?
Regards

10 Years? As android is evolving so much, the code working right now, if not updated each year will be obsolete and Google will just remove the app from the Play Store. So my recommendation, keep updating, each month. :)

I received this warning when attempting to use Firebase in my app. I am on 4.3.1 and did not need to downgrade. The way that I fixed it was by going to the module/app level gradle file and removing the last line that I was told to add on their site instructions. That specific line is apply plugin: 'com.google.gms.google-services'

Downgrading to classpath 'com.google.gms:google-services:4.2.0 worked for me .
But then i removed the line apply plugin: 'com.google.gms.google-services' from build.gradle(Module:app) and kept my dependency in Build.gradle(Project) as classpath 'com.google.gms:google-services:4.3.1' .

The warning may be gone with but by doing so Firebase Analytics will now be disabled.
`apply plugin: 'com.google.gms.google-services'``
above plugin is mandatory for adding firebase support to android project

Any news on this?

I wanted to get rid of a bunch of warnings thrown by com.google.gms:google-services:4.3.0 but com.google.gms:google-services:4.3.1 then has this other problem, and sticking to com.google.gms:google-services:4.2.0 does not look, well, ideal...
