Importing date module to create a date object but not able to change date from variable explorer. If the object is is string i can edit it but not in date object.

It seems this may be a bug in the implementation of https://github.com/spyder-ide/spyder/pull/12700
I think maybe moving this segment :
``
try:
value.time()
except ValueError:
self.sig_editor_shown.emit()
return None
````
after you check
isinstance(value, datetime.datetime)on [line 208](https://github.com/spyder-ide/spyder/blob/master/spyder/plugins/variableexplorer/widgets/collectionsdelegate.py#L208) should solve the problem of
datetime.datenot having a
time()` method
