Help works differently when call from the Editor and the Console. This is not Spyder's fault, but a limitation of the libraries we use to get help in the Editor.

Closing because there's nothing we can do about it, sorry.

spyder new verion(3.2.3)

That version is over half a year old, FYI. Please update to the latest (3.2.8) via conda update spyder from the Anaconda Prompt.

Carlos,

surely i will update but will that be having any adverse impact to other
Anaconda dependencies? ..I have had terrible experience (while updating
spyder through anaconda ) to the level where i had to uninstall it and then
reinstalled..After having sypder updated then,Jupyter application started
misbehaving pretty badly..

revert awaited,

Jalesh

It shouldn't, particularly not if you do it in a separate conda environment; that's what those are for. You possibly should just update anaconda as a whole first, since a lot of your other stuff is likely out of date as well.

I have had terrible experience (while updating spyder through anaconda ) to the level where i had to uninstall it and then reinstalled

Most likely because something is messed up with your install (e.g. using pip to install something); conda updates should be close to as smooth as one can get. I've updated Spyder dozens of times on many different machines and environment and never experienced a single issue, though YMMV.

if you do it in a separate conda environment; ----- does it mean i have
to get some other OS version installed in other PC..and then check its
performance?

Umm, no; the whole point of conda environments is to prevent you having to do that. I suggest you read the docs to learn more.

Thankx for sharing the link...

could u please also share me free comprehensive video tutorial links for R
language?
would be grateful.

Since it might not have been clear, the above link was meant to be a gentle reminder akin to the phrase "Let me Google that for you" (LMGTFY), i.e. one could have gotten a quicker answer just Googling the given phrase oneself rather than us doing it for you. This is a particularly acute case since this is the bug tracker for Spyder, a Python IDE, not a help forum for R, which would be a much more helpful and appropriate place to ask the question above if Google couldn't find a good result.

As much as we'd like to be able to help everyone, unfortunately, due to our limited resources we have to set certain sensible boundaries or we'd never get any work done on Spyder itself, and this discussion has wandered pretty far outside them to be honest. Thanks for your understanding!

i went through the link provided by you through google...but the videos are
of short duration...cant there be a comprehensive FREE 10+hours of video
tutorials for R..
if answer is YES, request you to provide me that link so that i could take
great help from both it and you :)

@borntospark0, this is a place to help people about Spyder errors, not to provide help about random stuff.

@borntospark0 I'm sorry, but it is evident the major message of my last two posts has not been received, so I'll abandon overt politeness for the sake of utmost clarity.

This is the bug tracker for the Spyder Python IDE, and is not a help forum, not about a programming language and is not in any way about anything R. Therefore, as your question is completely unrelated to both the purpose and the topic of this site, and should be taken elsewhere, as it is wasteful of the time of all involved to continue this further. Thank you.

No Worries...even i would take this opportunity for thanking u in having
extended support wrt Spyder and anaconda..

in hindsight, if u wudnt have clarified as above...i wouldnt have
religiously searched for R course and found the one which i was exactly
looking up..thankx pal for pumping me up!!!

take care...

Sorry, but for the fifth time (with slight alternations for the particular circumstances):

This is the bug tracker for the Spyder IDE, and is not a help forum, has nothing to do with plotly, is not related to Jupyter notebook, and we are not the developers of the Anaconda distribution. Therefore, as your question is completely unrelated to both the purpose and the topic of this site, it should be taken elsewhere, as it is wasteful of the time of all involved to continue this further. Thank you.

Please find somewhere more appropriate to ask these questions, like Stack Overflow, another repo, or a mailing list. Thanks.
