I've found the following additional packages to lack support for the Apollo Lake architecture (DS918+ in my case):

  • SABnzbd
  • Python (v2, which SABnzbd also depends on)
  • nano

I add them to the list

Jacket added to the list

Here, Git and python packages from the synocommunity apps. These packages are different than the onse from Synology itself which are named Git Server and Python. These packages from synocommunity are required to make other packages work (such as couchpotato).

Added to the list.

I see the apollolake DSM 6.1 toolchains is available for download, what can we do with this ?

Syncthing seems to be affected by this too

Thanks for flaggging all this, but the issues are known. Please take a look at the FAQs in the Wiki w.r.t. support of new architectures as well as DSM6.1.

The Apollolake toolchains have been added to the DSM6 development branch recently (see PR #2942). However, the packages you are looking for require more than this (see e.g. issue #2904 and discussions therein). Work is in progress, but will likely take more time and lots of testing. You can track it via the references above. If you can and want to contribute, more than wellcome. Otherwise, please don't expect a quick fix.

Thank's for answer, I knew it was already known but I wanted to reference packages which need apollolake support. Is there any way to use these packages before apollolake support ?

@ThomasClemenceau well... generally speaking every SPK which isn't a "NO ARCH" SPK needs to be recompiled with the correct toolchains once we have DSM 6 Support ;)

Even worst, SynoCommunity packages often use "busybox" so are rarely "no arch" even if packaged application is expected to be... It will change soon, as my generic "service" support gets ride of "busybox".

Anybody any news on when we can expect the missed packages on synocommunity?

The "syncthing" package does build and seems to install well enough, so I'm not sure what's preventing it from being added at least. That, and syncthing-inotify

Can you try to build packages which are referenced above ? Ty

I’ve tried to build and install transmission, works fine with on DS218+

Can you give the spk ? I don't really know how to build packages from spksrc...

Thank you ! Did you try with another packages from the list ?

Not yet, but I think they are compilable for now. I don't know who need to care about adding applications with new architecture or how to release it for repo, but they are coming soon I believe

m4tt075 said "please don't except a quick fix." few weeks ago. So I don't really know. I bought my synology for tv show/movies streaming and downloading, but I only can stream yet :'( I imagine I need to wait the DSM 6 supports :/

The same for me:) But from apps list above for your targets actually just transmission needed :) that I attached. I can try others, which app you need? Sonarr/Radarr/SABnzbd ?

Sonarr, Radarr and Jackett were these I used with my DS216j if you can try these I will be very thankful !

If you could check for Couch Potato as well, you'll be my hero !

On my Syno, Couch Potato is available on synocommunity repo's.

i also have the packages in my overview, but they don't work. keeps saying it needs GIT & Python.
I have the DS218+, newest OS. Even if i install the community packages for GIT and Python i still get this error.

@ThomasClemenceau, try what you requested, I hope they are working... leave comments after test
jackett_apollolake-6.1_0.7.1483-4.spk.zip
nzbdrone_apollolake-6.1_20171026-10.spk.zip
radarr_apollolake-6.1_20171026-3.spk.zip

thank you so much, really appreciate the hard work!

Just tried to install radarr,jackett&nzbdrone:
please install the following package before installing this package
Mono (any version later then 3.6) (jacket 4.x)
Where can i get mono?
Update: I found mono once i turned on beta in package center. downloading now and retrying.
Update: After installing latest mono beta, i am still getting the same mono errors. what am i doing wrong? Mono package is running and active.

Thank you for your quick fixes here @dumon. Couch Potato is indeed available in the list, but it needs the Python and the Git package from Synocommunity, which are both not readily available. Same goes for sickrage I believe, these need python and git as well. I understand you do not want to compile all packages for all requests, but it would really help if you could provide these two, as these are quite general dependencies for a lot of projects.
If this is too much work or if you can't do it for another reason, that's absolutely fine !
Thanks for what you've done so far, anyway! <3

@Producermark, it's not hard just to compile:) I did it. But I have no time to investigate and have no idea how to resolve issues like @aditvalue wrote (I have Mono 4.6 installed, but I faced with the same error for radarr), also python packages that you requested failed to build=(
Find some apps bellow that successfully compiled:
git_apollolake-6.1_2.11.0-10.spk.zip
git-server_apollolake-6.1_1.8.3-1.spk.zip

I will try later. But I think Radarr/Jackett/Sonarr try to find the version of Mono which was released at last Sonarr update

Update : Same issue for radarr, jackett and sonarr saying I need to install Mono

Mono testing package for apollolake with DSM 6.1+:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/wgvvct1sf0507aq/mono_apollolake-6.1_5.8.0.22-9.spk?dl=0
Not tested whatsoever, but I assume you know what you are doing...

So with Mono, Sonarr and Radarr work fine, but Jackett can't be start, when I try nothing happens. :/ ty dumon and m4tt, now I will wait for Jackett :p

radarrseems to be working with me also
first installed https://www.dropbox.com/s/wgvvct1sf0507aq/mono_apollolake-6.1_5.8.0.22-9.spk?dl=0
Then installed radarr_apollolake-6.1_20171026-3.spk.zip
After installtion i boot into radarr and get the site! tomorrow i will try the other packages, but it's looking very well! Thank you so much ;-)

If someone could compile nzbget 19.1 for apolloLake as well I would be eternally grateful. Right now my old DS412+ is doing all of the downloading and I am copying files over nightly onto the new server.

I just installed nzbget on my DS918+ by following the installation procedure:

https://nzbget.net/installation-on-linux

As a test, it started without any problems in console mode.

Now I need to wait for the recompile of Midnight Commander...

Looked into the wiki and tried to compile some packages.

  • Radarr compiles and runs, but no directories can be used as there is a problem with permissions of sc-radarr user.
  • Sonarr will not compile and throws error
  • Mono can be installed successfully and works as far as I know
  • Jackett installs, but fails to run
Looks like progress was made with the toolchain being available, but there are still a lot of problems with most packages.

Maybe someone more experienced to the synocommunity repo can give us more of a status update as to what to expect in the coming days or weeks, would be great.

I keep repeating myself, but here you go:

The Apollolake toolchains have been added to the DSM6 development branch recently (see PR #2942). However, the packages you are looking for require more than this (see e.g. issue #2904 and discussions therein). Work is in progress, but will likely take more time and lots of testing. You can track it via the references above. If you can and want to contribute, more than wellcome. Otherwise, please don't expect a quick fix.

@skandragon can you link the syncthing spk you compiled? It would be greatly appreciated.

I am greateful for everyone who is working on getting Apollolake running. I just bought a DS418play and tried to install Sickrage bit GIT and Python is missing :( Tried to compile them myself in a Debian VM but no luck (problems with the libc6-i386 if I remember right). Any progress is good progress, keep it up and also waiting for those two and sabnzbd :)

Flagging this as I have migrated today from a DS414j to a DS418 and I am discovering some packages missing.
I installed everything back then with DSM 5, so I still have everything on the disks
I am not a Linux wizard. Do you think I could find a way to launch Sabnzbd, Sickrage and couchpotato with a script ?
I had installed mylar manually with git, So I can launch it with putty with python Mylar.py --daemon (I have a script at startup) but as Sabnzbd does not work, it is useless.
Thanks a lot !

@Diaoul sorry to bother you. this is fei from china. just quick question regarding 918+, when the transmission package available on this platform.thank you.

@zfkira best you can do here is wait for someone to work on this issue. From a quick reading of this issue I can see SynoCommunity members already on it.

@sholden28, I can but I will warn you, this is my first time delving into building this stuff. I'm a developer, and I used the docker image, so in theory it should be pretty consistent.

It's on my personal laptop at home, but I can put it somewhere and link it here.

That would be great, thank you. I understand and accept the risk. I should be able to find and address any issues once I have something to start from.

@Producermark

Radarr compiles and runs, but no directories can be used as there is a problem with permissions of sc-radarr user.

Just edit the sc-media group's permissions and you'll see your directories.

Hi Guys
I have an opportunity to go from DS418 to DS418play for something like 30$
As I understand the DS418play is an intel apollo lake, do you think I would have more chance seeing these packages being usable with the DS418play than with the DS418 (which has a realtek) ?
Or once the problems are sorted through with DSM 6, they will be available for all machines ?
Thanks a lot

Hello to you all. I bought an DS218Play last week and bumped into the known issues that Git and Python are missing, so we cant install SickRage, SabNzb etc..

I stumbled across this conversation in here and saw that some of you compiled and shared spk's for DSM 6.1.

I tried some of them but only encountered errors and cant install any of them.

Is there something that i'm missing here? If yes could one of you smart people point me in the right direction? :)

Hello all,
I can't find Deluge Apollolake version for DS918+.
Can you help me?
Thanks a lot

@dumon Have you already done a git push on your packages? If so, we should do the pull request and try to get it reviewed.

Hi all, any chance we can have Tmux for DS918+ (Apollolake) too? ;)

Hello

I can't find Midnight Commander for DS918+ in synocommunity repo. Can you help me?
Thx

RedCat

@wshyang As it is easy to build and do not run background service, I just built it: http://dl.free.fr/bE1mHpnAo
I hope it will work...

Sonarr seems to be working fine on 918+ apollolake using these builds:
first installed mono https://www.dropbox.com/s/wgvvct1sf0507aq/mono_apollolake-6.1_5.8.0.22-9.spk?dl=0
then Sonarr: https://github.com/SynoCommunity/spksrc/files/1418348/nzbdrone_apollolake-6.1_20171026-10.spk.zip

Thanks! (links found in this thread)

If that's the case, Sonarr could be added to the repository so it can be installed in the "official" way, right?

I tried to compile python for you guys, but there is something wrong with the python spk on the DSM6.1 toolchain: it won't compile due to a problem in CFFI. I already updated the cffi and pycparser packages to the latest version in my branch, but it didn't work:
https://travis-ci.org/Safihre/spksrc/builds/304371455
Maybe a newer setuptools?

The strangest part is that I can actually compile the sabnzbd package on the DSM6.1 toolchain, which compiles the whole of cross/python without a problem. Only the spk gives a problem.

I also compiled all the other packages you requested (untested!)
Click to see the files for each app: https://github.com/Safihre/spksrc/tags

Oke I think I managed to get python working!
Can you guys test it?
https://github.com/Safihre/spksrc/releases/tag/python-5-dms61

There are also new mono (and the packages using mono) available here: https://github.com/Safihre/spksrc/tags

Need feedback to create a final version to submit PR :)

Hi

Just installed on a DS418play with intel J3355 with DSM DSM 6.1.4-15217
Update 1 and it runs.

I don't know what else to check, I use the packages couchpotato-custom,
sickbear-custom and sabnzbd-testing which do not work without a working git
package. I have them as I was on a ds414j with DSM 5, then migrated to DSM
6 then migrated to the DS414play

I had instaled mylar through git (not the synocommunity package) and it
still worked. And it keeps working now with this python package. I just
shutdown it and launched it and it works.

I am not a linux wizard but if you can tell me what to do yo help you to
insure it works as intended, I am available

Thanks a lot for your work !

Sabnzbd shouldn't need git. Can you try it again?
How about this git?
Link removed, outdated
And maybe this sabnzbd?
Link removed, outdated

Well Sabnzbd-testing is in error and the only choice I have is to uninstall
it

Your git package seems to run

Your sabnzbd package installs fine but when I want to launch it, it gives
an error "failure to repair the package". Same thing for couchpotato-custom
and sickbeard-custom

Like I said, I com from working packages on DSM 5 then 6 on a DS414j so I
don't know how much it may complicate the situation

Many thanks though !

@Safihre, sonarr and mono work perfectly, jackett doesn't want to run (yet). Good work 👍

@safihre I'm still looking for a syncthing package if you were so inclined. It would be greatly appreciated.

@cytec I tried to compile the syncthing package in the dsm6 branch (with updates from master merged in) but all of the builds are failing:
https://travis-ci.org/Safihre/spksrc/builds/306671422
apollolake is not yet listed as a supported arch, that should probably be in amd64 right?
Others fail with:

===>  No PLIST for syncthing
find: `src/wizard/': No such file or directory
make[1]: *** [wizards] Error 1
make: [arch-alpine-6.1] Error 2 (ignored)

@Safihre seems like the Makefile for syncthing ins't the most recent in the dsm6 branch. either copy the latest syncthing folder over from master or try deleting https://github.com/SynoCommunity/spksrc/blob/dsm6/spk/syncthing/Makefile#L25 since the folder isn't present that's most likely why it fails!

regarding apollolake: yep should be amd64

@cytec thanks! That fixed it.
@sholden28 Here you go: Link removed, outdated

Thanks so much @Safihre. The package installs, but won't run unfortunately. DS718+. "Failed to run the package service", using syncthing_apollolake-6.1_0.14.30-13.spk

Hey @Safihre thanks for sharing binaries! Would it be possible to also share a compiled version of Midnight Commander (mc) for appololake in your repo? Or is something still needed to get that to work?

I've recently upgraded to a DS218+ and have some Linux programming/scripting experience so I would also be interested to help out getting things fully supported. I'd need to invest some time to get the dev environment setup though...

Here it would be:
Link removed, outdated
Only build it, so no clue if it works!

Great, thanks! It looks like it works fine. If I find any irregularities I'll report back.

Any ruTorrent or Transmission packages for Apollo Lake / DS918+ yet? :)

Yes, they are in that same repo: https://github.com/Safihre/spksrc/tags

Jackett still doesn't work, install works fine but can't launch it.

My apologies for seeming inpatient but is there an ETA for SABnzbd? I've tried the package from Safihre and it is able to install but i was not able to get it to run yet, even after changing the user to root. Running start-stop-status fails as well

I downloaded rutorrent_apollolake-6.1_3.8-1.spk from https://github.com/Safihre/spksrc/tags

It runs, but I get:

Looks like an error message from glib.

@Safihre: for me your python2.7 is installing but the post-install fails and as a result sabnzbd is not working (missing Python virtualenv).

@Safihre Thank you for your great work! Sonarr is working great for me. Transmission seems to have some issues with Sonarr and moving files. Otherwise, it's perfect!

Would you be able to get a version of TVHeadend working?

Tvheadend has an apollake version you can find on the tvheadend version

Hi, I'm trying to install sickbeard custom, which is already available in the package center.
But it says I need to install git and python.
I installed these packages from this thread, am I missing something?
Also would it be possible to get a package for nzbget?
Thanks for all the support!

Thanks for all your hard work on this. I too am trying to install GIT/Python on a Synology X18 so I can get SickBeard, sabNZB, etc. working. I have also tried the packages using the link on this thread but no luck! Any help from anyone who has managed to do it would be gratefully received. Much love!

Quite some hurdles still need to be taken for these packages to work. Porting to new service setup first, followed by fixing of the python package.
I still need to setup a virtual machine with DSM, since I have no Synology myself.. Hopefully next week!
Finishing my PhD this week so it's a bit hectic! 🤓

Good luck with your studies, Safihre. New to week would be great

Is it possible to setup a reward on this request? Happy to show some appreciation for your work.

Hello.
I cannot find the package Mosquitto in the DS218+

Is there any way to install it?

Edit:
I have found it in http://dl.free.fr/getfile.pl?file=/vTr3z4UT

Hello, any help with MediaInfo? =)
can't use it with ds218 =(

Safihre - are you still hoping to work on this this week? Thanks

Yep, compilation and DSM test platform setup and working on it now. Lots of trial and error.

Does anyone have a new link to the mono package? the old one has expired :(

Have you tried from mine? They are the same https://github.com/Safihre/spksrc/tags, select latest mono tag.

Thanks @Safihre, yeah I actually just did, but can't get sonarr to work. Or better said, I can't get the webinterface to work. Nothing shows up in the logs so I don't know if it's an apollo lake issue or something else.

Hello

I tired mc_apollolake-6.1_4.8.15-3.spk on 918+. Install was successful, in ssh start mc. Some functions are work great (chown, chmod in menu), but COPY dont!
I press F5, and ENTER, but nothing happend. What is wrong? Somebody can try this?

Thx :)

is there any chance for SABNZBD on my DS918+ at the moment?

So, it has taken days of compiling, liters of coffee and moments of pulling my own hairs, but I think I have working packages now.
Who feels like trying?
Python: https://github.com/Safihre/spksrc/releases/tag/python-dsm61-new-all _(link updated)_
SABnzbd: https://github.com/Safihre/spksrc/releases/tag/sabnzbd-dsm61-new-all _(link updated)_

Thanks for your contribution!
python_apollolake-6.1_2.7.14-17.spk installed without problems. But then I tried to install sickrage from the community tab of the package manager and it says: "missing packages: python, git"
When I try to install subliminal, it says "missing packages: python"

What if you use them from my releases?
For example:
Links removed, outdated

Are you serious!!! Im home in 5 minutes i will let you know if im able to get sabnzbd working!!!

Now I installed git_apollolake-6.1_2.11.0-10.spk also
Then sickrage_noarch-all_20171119-4.spk
Now sickrage is stuck at "installing" since roughly 10 minutes and doesn't do anything.

sickrage stuck

Hi
I have a DS418. I had migrated from a DS414j with a dsm 5 then dsm 6.1
So I had already python, git, sabnzbd testing, couchpotato testing and
sickbeard testing with https://github.com/SickRage/sickrage.github.io
I have installed your python, git, sabnzbd and sickrage
None of them work : it says "error when trying to repair" (or something
like that, it is in french for me)
Thanks a lot for your hard work though :-)

@bolhaskutya probably because the git package I linked is actually broken, sorry for that! Need to recompile.

@tchirou what packages are giving this error? What if you try to uninstall python and sabnzbd and then install both from my releases?

DS918+

I will let you know if i run into any problems but it seems to be working!!! You are genuinely the best Safihre!

thank you for your work.
i tried sabnzbd for apollo lake. unfortunately it doesn´t work. python seems to run ok.
when installing sabnzbd it says "not available"

@AndyHIP try installing it again, I also got this once but it turned out it was installed just fine and nothing unusual in the logs.

thank you.

i tried installing 6 times, didn´t work. then i set the rights of the group dc-download (read/write in download folder weren´t set) - didn´t work either. then i restarted the DiskStation - installed - and now it seems to work ok!!
Don´t know if it were the rights or the restart (-: thanks so much!!!

All packages I have using python
I uninstalled sabnzbd and installed it again. It says "running" but it does
not display the ip to access sabnzbd and impossible to open or download the
config.ini in the @appstore folder through SSH
I cannot uninstall python for now as it request to uninstall all my spk
using it and I need to backup all my config files before doing that. I need
a little time to do this

@AndyHIP what exact path did you set the permissions on?
@tchirou To access SAB you just use the NAS IP-address but with :8080 behind it, so for example http://192.168.1.100:8080.

first for "downloads" - then for everything (doesn´t matter i thought)

Alright I was testing the 9091 but it wasn't available. The 80 works. I
will need to test it further with downloads

Do you think you can make a sickrage spk with the fork from
https://github.com/SickRage/sickrage.github.io
Also; do we need a special couchpotato too ?
Thanks a lot

downloads / unpacking working just fine now.

@tchirou I recompiled git with recent fixes, could you try it?
Link removed, outdated
So first install this package and then the sickrage package.

Really appreciate the work on getting this apollolake issue resolved. Can I just ask whether Sonarr, Radarr, Transmission are in scope for this work?

When can we expect to see git and python in package center and will those packages make sickbeard-custum etc work?

Hi Safihre,

So i now have sabnzbd working with the Python package. Next step is CouchPotato.

  • i installed your Git package (the older version not the one you posted just now)
  • installed your couchpotato package couchpotatoserver_noarch-all_20171119-6.spk
And it is all working now

Next step is Sickrage!

  • Installed Sickrage, but it hangs at the install screen
  • Rebooted, Installed the new Git package as an update
  • Again installed your Sickrage package and noticed that it took quite some time. Had to do something so came back after 20 minutes or so and Sickrage was successfully installed

The standard port is :8899

Finally i got my new NAS DS918+ set up the way i had it in mind. I appreciate your input very much! Thank you! Have a great 2018!

Finally I installed sickrage too! It took a long time.

But I get the following error:
2018-01-05 18:52:59 Unable to open /volume1/TV Show: OSError(13, 'Permission denied') / [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/volume1/TV Show'

During install sickrage didn't ask for default user, I wonder what user sickrage is using for its file operations...

@FerdiSyno we need people to test the new packages first, so give them a go and let us know if they work :)

For the others: The Sickrage package needs to be updated to work with the new permissions setup. I think maybe it's best even if I just take the current package down to avoid confusion for now.

Getting python to compile for all platforms literally took me 5 full days, so I need a Synology break this weekend 🤓🤖

@Safihre
Ok, thanks for the info regarding sickrage permissions.

Shouldn't we be using the official repo?
https://github.com/SickRage/SickRage.git instead of https://git.sickrage.ca/SiCKRAGE/sickrage.git ?

Thanks you for your hard work! We were very hopeless until now. You're the ray of hope in this dark mess :)

@Safihre
The link for the new git has been removed
Should i take it somewhere else ?
Thanks a lot

@Safihre I'm not really a greater tester because I've got no xp with coding and stuf. I only use python for sickbeard-custum (I'm using the other sickrage, not echelons sickrage). Since sickbeard-custom ain't working I'm probably of no use to you :(. Anyways thx for the hard work mate!

Amazing work, Safihre! Python and SABNZB working like a charm -> Fast and easy to get it inastalled and working without issue so far

I can't find anyhere the GIT / SickRage packages refenced in the last ~12hrs (git_apollolake-6.1_2.11.0-10.spk also sickrage_noarch-all_20171119-4.spk)

DS218play is also not showing most of the packages (e.g. python/sabnzbd/etc.)

@jimpouwels yes, that's the point of this issue. And as described before, please try the packages I linked so that we can get feedback before it's being published on the repo. These new packages required a lot of work to make future proof so we ended testers first.

For anyone trying to download my git package: I removed it because it's no use without an updated sickbeard/sickrage package. They would not be compatible directly (in terms of permission management) with the new SABnzbd package.

Hello, I am using Syncthing on a Synology DS115j for about one year now. Now I have a new Synology disk station - DS218+. I have added http://packages.synocommunity.com/ to the package manager and allowed beta versions to be displayed and "Synology and trusted developers" to be shown. Still, I cannot find the SyncThing package anymore :-(. It seems that this thread here covers the main problem.

Please help - I am not a Synology specialist and I am not fit in installing packages manually. How can I install Syncthing on this disk station?
Best regards.

Hello, I am trying to install sonar in DS718 and I need Mono testing package for apollolake with DSM 6.1+. The following link is not working anymore:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/wgvvct1sf0507aq/mono_apollolake-6.1_5.8.0.22-9.spk?dl=0

Could anyone help me with this? Thanks a lot!!

@jsanchez999 You will find Mono 5.4.1.6 packages for DSM 6.1 on this link here for the time being. These are beta packages. Please do report any issues you should find.

The corresponding packages for DSM 5.2 will be published via the SynoCommunity platform (if they aren't already).

Hi @Safihre first of all many thanks for the Python / SABnzbd packages, I am running a DS418play on 6.1 and it works like a charm.
You mentioned that the GIT package will allow to fix the Couchpotato / Sickbeard packages but still those packages will not work in terms of user privileges with SABnzbd. Is that so? Because I see all of those packages in the Synocommunity repository so I assumed they are already updated.

@panc88 they are not updated. They would only work if you manually set the correct permissions.

I see, thanks for the clarification.

Does anyone have any luck with Jackett?

@EVRiNOM You can try yourself. DSM 6.1 beta packages for Jackett-0.8.490 are available on this link here for the time being. But please do report any issues you should find.

The corresponding packages for DSM 5.2 will be published via the SynoCommunity platform (if they aren't already).

@m4tt075 THANK YOU ver much! I downloaded mono from the link you passed and sonar is perfectly working. Regards.

Has anyone had any success with a working syncthing package? @safihre is there anything I can do with your latest syncthing package to get it running properly?

@m4tt075, it works flawlessly, thank you!

I dont want to be ungrateful, but do you have Sonarr also?

Incredible! Thanks

Will test tomorrow

@Safihre i installed git, phyton and sabnzbd on a DS418play, everything running smoothly. Huge thank youuuuuu

@safihre
What’s the benefit of using your SickRage and Couch Potato vs that on Synocommunity?

@BrianRotha the others wont install....

Syncthing is installed and working properly on two DS718+ running DSM 6.1.4-15217 Update 5. Thanks Safihre!

@Safihre
Oh, my god! Sickrage + Git + Python is working! Everything seems to be in order. Will keep testing for the next few days. You are awesome! Thank you very much. Will you update ruTorrent too if you have some spare time/energy in the future?

For those who have permission problems on synology: add read/write permissions to appropriate folders for the sc-media user group!

@suave123, I don't like that selfish attitude here. Let me clear a few things:

Developers of SynoCommunity develop on their free time and develop packages for others to enjoy. This is not a closed community, everyone can contribute and are encouraged to do so. We prefer code contributions rather than people sharing their version of a package or advertising their own repository. This is to improve overall quality and ensure the package will keep being maintained over the years as it has been done so far. All the code is opensource and makes creating packages streamlined, maintainable and trustworthy.
Take a look at the commit history to see all the countless hours spent on this repository and not just @Safihre, many others too.
Spitting on SynoCommunity because a package doesn't work for you is pure selfishness. If you feel like you're up to the task, your contribution is more than welcome.

Awesome work btw @Safihre, I'm looking forward for this to be merged.

@Diaoul i think you misinterpreted my post. I was just expressing my gratitude to his hours of work and am astonished how all this work has come from 1 person only.

@Diaoul, (deleted)
There are simply a lot of users really happy that they can get their favorite packages working again thanks to Safihre. That does not mean we are not grateful to all the coders/programmers behind the SynoCommunity.

@Safihre Can i use your packages for DS213J and DSM6.1 pls? I have mono/sonarr installed can i just install an upgrade of the already installed versions pls?

@ward0 Yes you can, the mono package by @m4tt075 linked above in my post works.
With that one you can also use sonarr that already shows up in your Package Center (for me it shows up and works).
Working on a newer version of Sonarr right now that uses the new service-approach, but the Package Center version should also work.

@Safihre thx for the info, i will update my Mono this evening and test. Hoping that my Jackett is fixed also.

@Diaoul Indeed, I am just taking the second-to-last hurdle after much work was already performed long before I got into all of this! I am just doing the easy bit, using the tools provided by others 🥇
But @Diaoul I hope you maybe have some time for that last hurdle: getting spkrepo to function for full DSM6 compatibility (and stability) 🎉

I don't have the time unfortunately but I gave @ymartin59 access to the server. The idea is to put spkrepo in a Docker container so it can run everywhere and be easier to deploy and maintain. I just hope the hosting cost isn't going to increase too much in the cloud :crossed_fingers:

Why not put a wizard page (for upgrades) in each package, with a link to the donation page?
We have done something similar for Sabnzbd and turns out many users don't mind giving a few bucks for free software, they just needed a reminder :)
@ymartin59 what do you think?

@Safihre Thx for all the great work mate. Eventhough I'm not a coder or something I will test you packages soon, but waiting for sickbeard-custom first. Anyways lost of thx for you effort!

@Safihre so if I want to use Sonarr / Radarr I need to wait a little longer, right? I am using DS218+

+1 for sickbeard-custom with https://github.com/SickRage/sickrage.github.io

@Safihre
Is the python package configured for utf-8?
I'm getting an error in Sickrage:
_Exception: 'ascii' codec can't encode character u'\u2026' in position 61: ordinal not in range(128)_
According to this post it is because python is configured in ascii not uft-8:
https://github.com/Diaoul/subliminal/issues/239#issuecomment-27384226

Could this be the case?

Just wanted to give a big THANK YOU to @Safihre, @m4tt075, and @Diaoul for all of their hard work in getting these things working. Got everything installed and will do some testing this weekend. I would greatly add a donation to the programs, and these fine folks for the hard work they provide and the pleasure I get from using the programs.

Thank you kind strangers!

@Safihre Sonarr not in my package center (DS218+) but thanks for all your work :)

@Safihre , the link for Python doesn't work :(

Thank you @Safihre, @m4tt075 and @Diaoul for you amazing work !

Python package is recompiling with the UTF8 fix, give it ~30 min 🕦

Just to clarify, I did nothing for this particular issue so if you want to donate, feel free to do so but reward the people that actually made it happen.

I've added donation links because people kept asking for them and, well, it helps pay the hosting bills. As for the donation program, I don't think this is a good idea. It doesn't provide sustainable income so it's not a good fit to cover hosting fees. And for packages, I don't think it's fair, this would redirect the donations on a per package basis even though you can have tons of contributors to the same package or contributions to the spksrc framework that all packages will benefit from or even to the repository code. I'd feel like I'd be stealing others people work. Moreover, it can be misleading for the users as they may think they rewarded some software's developers, when actually it was the packager.
I don't like asking for money so the wizard donate link isn't something I have in mind, wouldn't it block the background upgrade? If so this would be rather annoying.
There's a Bountysource, a few issues have bounties but it's hard to use for the users, much harder than clicking a donate button somewhere as you need to put a bounty on a specific issue.

I'll leave up to the current maintainers the decision on how they want to be rewarded.

That makes sense, especially with so many contributors and it potentially not being clear that it's for SynoCommunity and not the software developers.

_PS: I send you a donation earlier today for the hosting and the general effort 💸_

Thanks Safihre, great work! Everything working now! You made the difference mate :) Where can I donate for your work?

I was like, lets test mono package, then click on the link.. 404 :(

@ward0 You will find them here now...

@bolhaskutya can you re-download the python package (same link) and see if your encoding issue is now fixed?

@m4tt075 thx alot, installing atm.

@m4tt075 you think its normal i'm still waiting for the install to finish on a DS213J?

@ward0 Well, Mono is not startable by itself, but the package should signal that it has installed successfully. If you want to check, ssh into your box and see if it's there. Alternatively, install a package that depends on 'mono' ('Jackett' for instance, link here). It will only install and run if mono works correctly. Would give you indirect proof.

@m4tt075 the mono package is in state 'stopping', i probably can't upgrade because jackett and sonarr are installed? Can i ssh into my box and kill the process?

nvm found it ps axy and kill PID

@Safihre
The utf-8 python package solved the encoding issue. Good job. Thank you!
Still this sickrage contains many more bugs than https://github.com/SickRage/SickRage.git. Is it possible to make a package our of that one?

But you can change the git url during the installation (not during upgrade, only new installations), have you tried that?

@Safihre
Sorry, I just realized that git://github.com/SickRage/SickRage.git is the Sickbeard-custom package from SynoCommunity. Sorry for the confusion.

I changed the url during installation, but it doesn't run: "Failed to run package service."
/volume1/@appstore/sickrage/env/bin/python: can't open file '/volume1/@appstore/sickrage/var/SickRage/SiCKRAGE.py': [Errno 2] No such file or directory

It can't work, since it has to be started with /volume1/@appstore/sickrage/var/SickRage/SickBeard.py

Is it too much to ask to fix up the Sickbeard-custom community package? It is way superior to the current Sickrage package.

I agree with this 🙏🏻

@safihre i’d also very much welcome an updated sickbeard-custom and couchpotato-custom package, and also would like to know how I can donate for your works on solving these issues for the community

Please use the Donate button on the www.synocommunity.com website to support this project :)
You can personally donate to me through https://sabnzbd.org/donate/ (for those who don't know, I'm actually the dev for SABnzbd and just somehow happend to get overly involved into this project recently 🤗).

On the practical side of things: I am moving to a new house this week and internet will only be installed the week after. After that I'll get back on the package conversion track!

Hi,
how can I download Transmission for my DS718 +? :)
someone can help me?
Thank you very much!

Happy to and will donate (to both), just hoping that we will eventually see the packages ref’d in this ticket (transmission, sonar, radar + their dependencies) in the syno repo 🙏🏻

👆🏻 Done. Others should do the same. Nothing like some cold hard 💵 to (hopefully) ease the path to final resolution...

i will donate when everything works on DSx18+....

Had Sonarr installed on my DS218+ before with the linked package in this thread. That stopped working when I installed the new Mono to get Jacket to work. And, now I can't find Sonarr. Where do I download Sonarr for DS218+?

Donation done for both, keep up the good work!

@styphnate As mentioned before, the Sonarr package is coming.
The one posted before might have worked, but it was not made in a future proof way. This old style could lead to permission problems later on. Only packages made in the new style will now be linked here.

@Safihre does this also mean Radarr is coming?

Yes, but as written above, due to moving it will be a week or so at least.

waar verhuis je heen?

mosquitto has been published

Sonarr/Radarr added, see list above (https://github.com/SynoCommunity/spksrc/issues/2945#issuecomment-357008518). Compiling should be done very soon.

I just noticed that Midnight Commander is missing on my Synology 918+

Huge amount of Kudos to Safihre!

Are all these packages updatable within its own application? Or do we have to come back to this forum regularly?

Self-updating from within Sonarr/Radarr 🤖

SickBeard Custom also added.

@safihre Thanks!!!

I have spent the weeeknd testing SAB, Python, GIT, SickRage and SabNzb; all working fine.

Can’t wait till Sonarr and Radarr are ready too! Happy to wait

Thanks for your hard work! Donation coming your way!

@BrianRotha They are ready, see above!

@Safihre
You are awesome! Everything seems to be in order. No bugs. No warnings. Ten times faster. Detects subtitles properly. I'll keep testing. I'll send a donation too :)

Two minor observations:

Good job, mate!

@Safihre I successfully installed a previous version of your SABnzbd package on a DS418Play about a week or 10 days ago.
Today I tried updating to the latest one you posted, but I get a message saying that the port "undefined" is already in use. Any idea why this is happening? Do I need to uninstall the old version first?

Thanks for your hard work on these packages!

Try to stop the package first Then update

Unfortunately that doesn't help. I still get the same message.

Restart the NAS. Probably Sabnzbd didn't close properly and left the port occupied.

Restart the NAS. Probably Sabnzbd didn't close properly and left the port occupied.

That didn't do it either. I ended up removing the older package after backing up the settings, then installing the new one worked fine. Thanks again for your work!

i am trying to install the new packages and the installation for example of sickrage works well, but it won't startup. Same thing with coachpotato etc. the packages error messages (like no python etc) seem to be over now, since they will install now but i am lacking an overview of which mono to install and what i need to do to get the packages working. Can someone please put down a step by step overview on the installation steps and which packages to get from where?

Hi,
First thanks for all the work done, Synocommunity packages are the main reason I stick with Synology for so long :)
I've got one (maybe silly) question : can I use the RTD1296 spk with the DS418J (equipped with a RTD1293)?

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Yes you can :-) am on the same boat.

Perfect, thank you very much :)

@Safihre Thank you for all your efforts!

I would like to ask you a question regarding Sonarr. In topic (https://github.com/Sonarr/Sonarr/issues/963) the possibility of using a different path for logging is discussed so that hibernation is possible. The author markus101 says at the end:

Not sure if the Synology Package can have an option on where to host Sonarr's AppData folder (its not maintained by our team), which can be controlled with the -data=/path parameter, since that controls where Sonarr keeps its settings as well as logs (both file and database), but that is the solution that would be best here.

Is it possible to add this parameter in the installation package so that you can choose a different location when installing Sonarr?

Tvheadend 4.2.5 test builds are available here now. Please continue to report any issues you should find.

@Safihre Thanks for your awesome work! Any chance of maybe getting Jackett and an updated version of Transmission next round?

Jackett is already available here. Can be further upgraded internally via the web-interface.

@m4tt075 I tried it first actually, on apollolake I get the "Not available" error message with that package. (jackett_apollolake-6.1_0.8.490-5.spk)

Left a donation for both as others have before. Enjoy a cold 6 pack on me for your efforts. Thank you.

Is there a way to downgrade Mono. I installed a "newer?" version listed as 5.8.0.22-9 that seems to be working just fine. I tried to install the latest "5.4.1.6-9" and it says I have to uninstall sonarr and radarr in order to do so. Is there a way to change versions without uninstalling radarr and sonarr. I would prefer NOT having to redo the setup for both of those programs as I just got everything working how I want it and don't want to start from scratch again. (also I guess if it ain't broke, don't fix it.)

Thanks for the suggestions.

@felixekman Sorry, I don't understand. The apollolake package is available on the link I shared. You have to download it to your desktop or something and then install it manually via the Synology Web-interface -> Package Manager. Where exactly do you get the "not available" message you are describing?

Hi Guys

DS418 here
Just donated 5 bucks each to Sabnzbd and Synocommunity for the awesome work I have enjoyed for 10 years now !

Everything (Sabnzbd, sickbeard-custom and Couchpotato) works great

The only thing is I get an error with Sabnzbd when rebooting the NAS. I use a folder downloads inside my home folder instead of volume1/downloads, and I granted the persmissions for these folders for sc-media and sc-downloads

Thanks a lot

@felixekman aber have the /var/log/synpopkg.log file and the relevant sections?

Manual remove of temp folder + add/remove group/users solved the issue with a reboot for safe measure.

@Safihre
Just reporting in. After 4 days of testing Sickbeard-custom is working perfectly. Thank you!

first 24 hrs of running NZBget, Sonarr and Radarr (after some tricky permission issues) running fine now....lets wait for another week. Donation is made!

Git is now viewable / installable on the synocummunity stream on the synology package center. Still, the python package is not present. Anybody any clue when this will be?

On my DS918+ I was able to install the following packages (apollolake) that are linked in the earlier comment

  • git
  • python
  • mono
  • jacket
  • sonarr
  • radarr

I was able to update sonarr/radarr and configure them with my client and my tracker via jacket. All seems to be working well, although I am a first time user so I might not be able to tell 100% that everything is fine. Still no errors and all apps open fine.

Can I just ask if there is a plan to give Transmission the same treatment?

Thanks again for all the hard work.

Love your work Safihre! You have enabled me to load all my favourite apps back onto my DS3617xs!
I have one small request.
Would you be able to repackage the lightweight umurmur for broadwell?
https://github.com/umurmur/umurmur

Thank you for your voluntary work. :)

Any news about transmission and pyload?

@Safihre
Thank you so much for your work. I've sent a donation, because you have made my life a lot easier since discovering SAB!

UPDATE
I found where the packages are. Brain wasn't braining last night!

Have been using the programs for the last week or so on my DS918+ and everything seems to be running just as expected. Radarr, Sonarr, NZBget, Mono, Midnight Commander. Thanks for the great work!

There is a way to install pyLoad also for the apollolake architecture?

Mono 5.8-pre and ffmpeg by @m4tt075 added to the list.

I am not able to install couchpotato from the synocommunity when installing python manually for the DS218+. I guess I have to wait for the python package to appear in synocommunity for my synology model.

@Safihre
Will you get around to fixing up ruTorrent?
I don't know about the libTorrent and rTorrent part of it, but this the most active ruTorrent git:
https://github.com/Novik/ruTorrent

Most problems with ruTorrent are permissions of the rTorrent and Webserver users.

@m4tt075 and @felixekman
I just attempted to deploy jackett_apollolake-6.1_0.8.490-5.spk and received the same "Not Available" message, syopkg.log only show this:

2018/01/22 14:14:18 install jackett 0.8.490-5 Begin /bin/rm -rf /volume1/@tmp/pkginstall
2018/01/22 14:14:18 install jackett 0.8.490-5 End /bin/rm -rf /volume1/@tmp/pkginstall ret=[0]
2018/01/22 14:14:18 install jackett 0.8.490-5 failed

This appears when the user clicks the "Apply" button after the package has been uploaded to the Synology.

First of all thank you to all of those working on this issue, it is greatly appreciated. A lot of packages now work on my DS3617xs, however Mylar still refuses, claiming Python is not present even though python (and git) were installed correctly.
Did anyone already solve this issue?

Hi Ds418 here
I personably have git cloned mylar master in my home folder and it works with sabnzbd and nzbtomedia
I advise you to do the same

How did you do that?

Create the folder through dsm
connect through SSH with putty. Go into the folder
Then type
Git clone https://github.com/evilhero/mylar.git

Then you can launch it with python Mylar.py and access it through the
default port

You will need to create a script to start it when the NAS boots

Thank you, I will try that when back home.

I see the following errors in the log: Couldn't import movie movie: Access to the path is denied.

What's going on?

This message is clearly displayed during install and upgrade, you need to give proper access rights to sc-media and sc-download (depending which package hoi are talking about) to all folders that the app needs to use.

I gave read/write permissions to sc-media and sc-download user group to the download and movie folder and still get this message.

Hmm, tried the Git clone command, however i get an error:
-sh: git: command not found
even though Git is installed on the DS

> mvss: I gave read/write permissions to sc-media and sc-download user group to the download and movie folder and still get this message.

I had the same issue on my DS218+
After trying pretty much everything over ssh, even putting sc-media as creator of my media folder (...) I had to resort to update my shared folder to windows ACL permissions and then I could assign permissons to sc-media properly
everything works fine since then in Radarr/Sonarr

Only issue to report, sometimes (rarely) Mono entering in a 100% CPU usage loop (not running in Docker)

Thank you for sharing.

Hmm the option "Convert to Windows ACL" is greyed out on my Synology.

@Safihre i have an DS418 with 6.1 and cant find radarr, sonarr and nzbget.
i enabled also beta in the options. what is the problem?

greetings

oh, okay. so i have to manually install the packages. when will they show up in the synocommunity?

Dear @Safihre

I installed the "ffmpeg (with full ARM support) (by @m4tt075)" package on my DS718+. But I can't find it anywhere in any menu on my NAS. How can I start ffmpeg? Thank you!

Regards, Marcel

@Safihre thanks for the link. i installed all the packages, but i cant restore the backup of radarr. i think its an permission failure of the 2 files (config.xml, nzbdrone.db)

is this problem solved by some guy who want to restore it?

Greetings

@HIGHWOOD You won't find a link to ffmpeg in your NAS menus as it is a command-line tool. You can use it on the command-line by logging into your NAS via ssh or by having other packages use it.

@Err0r0815 Yes, wrong user permissions are well possible when restoring manually. I'd do the following: - Check ownerships (user and group) of the files within the var directory before you restore your backup.

  • After the backup, ssh into your NAS as admin (admin password) and gain root privileges via sudo su - (same password)
  • chown the ownerships of the restored files to align with those you have read out prior to the restore process (see above)

@m4tt075 thx 4 the reply i tryed 2 things.

  1. look up the permissions, copy the 2 files and give all files the permissions => doesn´t work
  2. look up the permissions, copy the 2 files and give the 2 files the permissions => work!

if someone has this kind of problems...

@Err0r0815 so do you maybe remember what the permissions (user/group) were and what they actually should be? This might be something we should fix in the code.

@m4tt075 Thank you for your explanation! I also installed the packages for Python and CouchPotato. CouchPotato should have a shortcut. I can't find that one also?

PS. How can I remove this manual installed packes in the future if I want?

Thanx again!

To install SABnzbd on my DS718+ I had to install Python first. I did that (also downloaded from this thread) and succeeded in installing SABnzbd. I tried the same for SickBeard (or Sonarr), but keep receiving the message that I need to install Python. Thanx for help!

@Safihre

the usr/grps where i created the backup (ds416)
radarr:users
and on the config.xml radarr:root

maybe here should do the devs of radarr/sonarr some work.
maybe create an import button, that copies the files in the right directory (this were also changed..)

@Safihre @ThomasClemenceau @dumon i have an DS218 with 6.1.5 and cant find Transmission in the synocommunity,
when will they show up in the synocommunity? thanks

Will definitely donate to this project. You guys are awesome.
I would like to test Sonarr, Radarr and Tramsission and give feedback on a DS918+. Is this still the latest transmission? https://github.com/SynoCommunity/spksrc/issues/2945#issuecomment-339606440

Update: I've just installed mono 5.8.0-pre and Sonarr 20180115-11 and I get following message when trying to start Sonarr:
"Corlib not in sync with this runtime: expected corlib version 1050800000, found 1050400003." Any ideas?

May you build a recent transmission version for RTD1296 (DS418) like for Sonarr.
Thanks,

I tried the Git clone command to get Mylar onto my DS, however i get an error:
-sh: git: command not found
even though Git is installed on the DS

Any help?

Synology package "Git" should provide link in PATH:

$ ls -l /bin/git
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 32 Jan 26 22:57 /bin/git -> /var/packages/Git/target/bin/git
$ /bin/git --version
git version 2.11.3

A more recent version is available in SynoCommunity repository (for most architectures):

/usr/local/git/bin/git --version
git version 2.15.1

@ThomasClemenceau could you make an DS918+ install version of handbrake

https://handbrake.fr/docs/en/latest/developer/build-linux.html

https://github.com/HandBrake/HandBrake

@adamcarter1 Not related with this issue. Please submit a specific "new package request" with some motivation why handbrake may be useful to run on synology

I've found the issue for "Corlib not in sync with this runtime: expected corlib version 1050800000, found 1050400003."

I deinstalled the newest mono 5.8.0-pre and installed the mono 5.4 from the SynoCommunity and now it works.

@m4tt075 I just tried jackett_apollolake-6.1_0.8.490-5.spk and when manually installing it says "Not Avilable" (just after I clicked "Apply"). Is there any fix?
image

@alexurjc Just tested again on bromolow-6.1, but cannot reproduce. Can you ssh into the box and post jackett.log and jackett_install.log somewhere? If the jackett folder does not exist, please look for the jackett_install.log in your /tmp folder.

@m4tt075 The only file I find with the name "jackett" is: /tmp/DSMTaskMgr/@administrators/@SYNOPKG_DOWNLOAD_jackett which contains:

{"private":{"finished":true},"property":{"data":{"id":"jackett","installing":true,"name":"Jackett","pid":6380,"status":"installing","taskid":"@SYNOPKG_DOWNLOAD_jackett"}}}

There are also these two folders: /sys/fs/cgroup/memory/pkgctl-jackett and /sys/fs/cgroup/cpuacct/pkgctl-jackett.

@alexurjc I really don't know what could cause this. You could try to remove the Jackett package (if there is actually anything left), reboot your NAS and try again. Otherwise, this specific apollolake package might be corrupt. Re-download the package from here and try again. If all of that does not work, I will re-compile the package for apollolake and we will test that. But otherwise, out of ideas...

@alexurjc How about /tmp/jackett_install.log?

Still no python present in the list. Its 4 months now that I have this thing and still havent moved from my old DS213+ to the new DS218+ just because of this. The downside of being first with new technology I guess.

@exxie What do you mean? Python is right there in the test-list: #3138.

if that package is installed manually, the other packages (like couchpotato) do not recognize it as official and will not install

So use the Couchpotato package from that same list..

Hi

Just to clarify for new comers because it is a very long post

I have a ds418play with a j3355 cpu

I can confirm that the following works perfectly since a few weeks

Python
Git
Sickbeard custom
Couchpotato
Sabnzbd

I can’t speak for the other packages as I don’t use them so I haven’t
tested them

Thanks again to everyone involved and for people who haven’t done it yet,
please consider donating to synocommunity and sabnzbd

If installing the packages from https://github.com/SynoCommunity/spksrc/issues/3138 will allows automatic updates?

Hello all, was wondering if there is a working Midnight Commander version for apollolake arch (918 to be exact)? Noticed that the link was removed from perious posts.

tnx!

Midnight Commander added to the list #3138.

Transmission added to the list #3138 (not thoroughly tested _yet_, let me know if it works).

Any chance for an instalable version of Mylar?

And ruTorrent? :)

Why is Git located in the synocummunity package center but the other ones aren't? I will give it a try to install python and thus couchpotato from https://github.com/SynoCommunity/spksrc/issues/3138 . Will this mean that the packages will be automatically updated as they would as they would be in the package center?

Just tried to install Transmission. I already have 2.92-12 installed. But I cannot install 2.92-13. It doesn't give me an error message, but when I click on next and have to check the license agreement, it's just empty and even if I check it, I cannot proceed on my 918+.

These test packages have some "drawbacks". Corresponding PR are waiting for last fixes so they are ready to be published into synocommunity repository.
@bond2k May you please report this failure in #3147 so that @Safihre may have a look to this "upgrade" path trouble.

This issue is an endless sequence of comments.
I close it as most requested packages are "in their way" as test package and pending PRs. They should come soon in online repository
For any trouble, please comment on package specific existing opened issue (or create one if none matches).

Deluge is now added! See #3138.
_(Please don't post in this issue, post problems etc in #3138!)_

Will FlexGet get a fixup?

Any idea on when fdupes will support Apollo Lake?
