hi - the mystic bbs project is again quite active, they have now also a ARM and linux based installation available. would be great to run this on the synology. It looks simple to install (scripted) however not yet sure if there is the ability to make a web interface for the configuration.
anyone else interested to run a telnet BBS on the synology? Since I'm not able to create packages (lack of knowledge) it would be great if that can be done through the community.
thanks

What would be the use of Mystic BBS on a Synology NAS ?
Well – a valid question. Benefit is for sure to move from an on old and high power consuming HW to the NAS. Also you can ask the same question why to run an FTPd on the NAS. Personally I like legacy stuff, like the good old BBS style – there have been done so much progress with mystic to run it on modern hw, even on ARM based PI, where I think it’s a valid scenario to have it on the synology. My current BBS archive is anyway already stored on the NAS, so that means basically just moving the software over and remapping my DNS alias.
There are still hundreds of active BBS running on Synchronet and Mystic :)
would like to see this happen as well :)
Since Mystic BBS is not open source anymore, the chance is very low that someone will merge a linux installer into an spk...
_I did not find any source but the hint here_
