To give everyone an update: I've updated the code. Next step is to test if everything is working as expected. Once that's done, I'll submit a PR with the solution updated to v1.6.0. Coming shortly!

Now that modern UI is coming on prem with SP2019, it would be good to have the on premise mindset, , because a lot of developers work on premise (at least in France) too. In this way every customers could benefit PNP work if it was also compatible to 1.4.

This is definitely something we're planning to do @seaSide974 and great to hear you confirm that this is needed. At this time we don't have a specific date when it will be available, but it's definitely coming.
