Created on 25 Jan 2018  路  12Comments  路  Source: sonic-pi-net/sonic-pi

Hi, I can not start the latest version of sonic pi in my laptot with windows 10.
Version 2.11 works fine but 3.1 does not
I leave the log below.
BTW I'm starting with live coding with this program, I'm a musician but not a programmer :)
Thank you!

Hi there,

so sorry you're having issues. Looks like there's something weird going on with SuperCollider (the internal sound engine for Sonic Pi) which is causing things not to boot.

Perhaps the SuperCollider people may be able to help out here - @brianlheim perhaps you might have some ideas about what's going on here...

Looks like the same issue as what we've been discussing over on sc3-plugins. @samaaron let me know when you've tested out that build I sent you. Or maybe mavro can try it out if you don't have a Windows 7 machine.

I'd love to try to fix this myself but I don't have any space left on my machine for a Win7 VM.

My lapto runs windows 10 but I had run the program with windows 7 compatibility so the log showed win7 as OS
But I'm running windows 10 and it gives me exactly the same problem

@mavro360 are you experiencing the problem running without Win7 compatibility mode?

@brianlheim yes, this is the log without Win7 compatibility mode

Hi there, I'm having the same problem mavro360 is experiencing. I'm interested in using Sonic Pi for educational purposes so I'm really looking forward into solving this.

I'm running Windows 7 x86, dropped the portable version 3.1.0 on C: to dispel routing errors, checked out the // \ orientations, and also tried all this with the non portable version. Following is the boot error report, just in case there's a slightly difference with mavro360's error.

@mavro360 @saldea88 - could you please - re-download the msi installer again and retry?

I've updated the installer in-place including new .dll files kindly created by @brianlheim and things works locally for me. The hashes of the new msi are:

MD5 | a4cfdbb6c3750aa341cfe42310ac8650
SHA256 | bb6805d9a5bfb3b220491310518785d87579556740fd9bbfa11b89f30284ed65

@samaaron you are the best !! 馃憤 It work perfectly

I am a newcomer in live coding and coding in general, but I am in love with Sonic Pi since yesterday that I tried it for the first time.

Thank you very much for your help and I'm here for what you need

@mavro360 Great to hear it's working for you. However, all the credit should go directly to @brianlheim :-)

@mavro360 - by the way, please do join our community over on https://in-thread.sonic-pi.net
