I am installing Sonic Pi on a macbook pro issued by my employer. Apparently there is some security setting where I can't install app's that do not have an identified developer. Is there an easy way you can add an "identified developer" to this app so folks like me can use this? It's a shame because I just learned about it at a programmers conference and I imagine there are a lot of devs out there who have work-issued laptops that may have this security restriction.

Hi there. This happened to me too, and while I had the administrative privileges to disable this security feature, there is a simple way around it. Right click on the application and choose "Open", it will ask you to confirm that you want to do this, and it should work properly from there on in.
OSX is designed to prevent you from just "double clicking" on untrusted applications, and this two-step process lets you tell the OS, "Yes, I know this is something I want to run".
Yep, ok that worked! So opening from Spotlight didn't work but that did. Thanks!
