I just downloaded and unpacked manually the source code of NextCloud in the root of my shared hosting (connected to a subdomain), after that I installed some Apps from the menu: everything else seems working :)

Yes with "Carnet" i have the same issue.

There is no "social" folder in the app folder

nope... :(

I had to install it manually: the download was really slow and the first time failed, maybe that's the reason why it fails from the app store? in this way it works.

I tried to update but I've got:

"An error occured during the request. Unable to proceed. Couldn't update app."

Console message:
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 () apps/update/social:1

I have similar problem. All others app installed with satisfactory results only 'social & "carnet: cannot installed. nextcloud 17

Sorry for the +1 comment, @copiis can we re-open this issue? It is not resolved. Lots of people seem to still be experiencing it. I'm unable to install the Social app. When I click "Download and Install" in the UI, I get the following error:

Could not extract app social: Out-of-path file extraction {/tmp/oc_tmp_moPsbR-folder/social/vendor/bin/parallel-lint --> ../jakub-onderka/php-parallel-lint/parallel-lint}
