slickSetOption('fade', true) breaks slider

Running into an issue where I am attempting to update the fader from a 'beforeChange' callback. After setting the option, the slider turns blank white.

Seems like I am not the only one encountering this -- found a fiddle setup here that documents the issue:

https://jsfiddle.net/9377u0yb/2/

The ultimate goal is to enabled the fader for 1 slide in the group.

This is happening on OS X 10 with the latest version of Chrome.

Thoughts?

@jpw123 I was able to recreate the issue--fade definitely has some rough edges.

I don't know the full details of your goal here, but I wonder if this wouldn't be more easily accomplished with a CSS animation.

Thanks

@leggomuhgreggo Thanks for the response.

I am trying to add a fade effect from the last slide in a slider to the first slide to avoid the "filmstrip" effect. Ill dig around in css animations and see if I can find a solution.

Was this ever resolved? I just tried to do the same thing and ended up here.

@gsc89 Hmm, maybe not. You could use the destroy method and then reinit as a work around. Definitely seems like a good candidate for a fix. No open PRs to my knowledge.

Also experiencing this.

In my case I want to have sliding normally, but use fade when user does an external action that triggers a slideGoTo
