The top-level README describes a process that only works for a handful of original maintainers: checking out the main repo and pushing to master. It needs to describe a process of forking & submitting PRs via Github.
In addition, the "effective dart" TOC bug can strike anyone and also needs to be mentioned.

@bhumikasharma29 if you're willing to set up the doc build — which can take a bit of time and effort — you are very welcome to work on this issue. It's not the easiest issue to start with, though.
