Signal-desktop: Dense/Compact View
Feature
Currently the app is not very dense/compact, messages take up a lot of space. Please consider a dense/compact view option to collapse messages closer together.

Thank you for your feature request @virtuallynathan. For the short-term, have you considered using the _View > Zoom Out_ feature to show more content (albeit smaller) at once?

I'd also be interested in removing the 'avatars' / photos on the contacts as well as removing the most recent line of conversation from the contacts list. I'm more interested in density than I am previews.

Not sure if this is a bug, or just not implemented, but messages are not compacted like the mobile apps. For example on Android consecutive messages look like this:
Where as on the desktop version they look like this:
It makes it harder to easily scan and read through messages when there is so much unnecessary information on the screen.

One more vote for compact view, for contact list more so than messages.
Also, it seems the app (on MacOSX at least) can't be resized below a certain minimal size -- I believe the current constraints are too restrictive.
