Sickchill: search timed out, try again or try another indexer

This has been happening for about a week, I am unable to add any new shows.

capture

This is all I get in the debug log: "DEBUG Thread-20 :: Searching for Show with searchterm(s): ['blindspot'] on Indexer: theTVDB"

I have tried shutting down, deleting cache.db, and restarting. Still no success.

I can manually search TVDB and find whatever I'm looking for.

Any help appreciated,
Ken

Ok so just in case someone else runs into this and sees this post. The issue is with IPv6. You have to disable IPv6 and then sickrage will start working and be able to search shows without getting the timeout issue.

Thanks for the issue report! Before a real human comes by, please make sure your report has all the below criteria checked

  • [ ] Include basic information: Branch/Commit, OS, What you did, What happened, What you expected
  • [ ] Enable debug logging (be sure to disable after the bug is fixed)
  • [ ] Post debug logs, either inline (for smaller logs) or using gist

Please make sure you also read how to create an issue and followed all of the steps.

The title should describe your issue. Having "SR not working" or "I get this bug" for 100 issues, isn't really helpful. We will close issues if there isn't enough information.

Sometimes the devs may seem like grunts and respond with short answers. This isn't (always) because the dev hates you, but because he's on mobile or busy fixing bugs. If something isn't clear, please let us know, and this bot may get updated to automatically answer you.

Thanks!

Its working fine here. Maybe Windows firewall is blocking.?
Also sometimes IPv6 can course DNS issues, but those where mainly not on Windows devices.

Works here too. Restart your PC?

@neoatomic - Windows Firewall is turned off.
@miigotu - PC has been rebooted 100 times

Any other suggestions?

Is there a log in SR somewhere that will tell me the reason it isn't finding anything on TVDB?

@kendog819 This is something related to your network/device.
Timeout means can not connect/find the site. Clearly something is preventing SR to make a connection.
Maybe its something simple as resetting your router/modem.?

@durmato. Not sure why u linked the 2 threads. 2 totally different machines, versions of SR, and locations.

@neoatomic - Will try resetting the router/modem asap. Thanks

Its happening the exact same thing from your previous 2 issues, you arent beeing able to connect to the internet. First with rawcdn then github and now tvdb

Reset Modem/Router. Reset WinSock / TCP IP, and all network settings on PC. And still unable to get any search results. Any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Ken

I am having the very same issue. I just loaded a brand new system with Ubuntu and setup sickrage and I am trying to add my shows in from where I had sickbeard running previously on Fedora 19 and no matter what show it search for it comes up with the timed out message. I would help if I knew exactly where sickbeard was trying to do to in order to do the search. I know if I go to tbdb.com I get a page stating that we site is down??? Anyone else know anything about TVDB being down?

If the site is down ofc it can't search the site right?

It has nothing to do with ip6. It just so happens that thetvdb came back online...

hmmm ok well I find it really amazing that as soon as I disabled IPv6 and
rebooted it started working.

I don't really want or need or use IPv6 for anything so I think I will stick with leaving it disabled. My only problem was that couchpotato stopped working after I disabled IPv6 but I seemed to have fixed that by going into the couchpotato.py file and commenting out the two lines that refer to hostv6. Now couchpotato is working

Sure, if that hackyness works for you thats cool, but it is extremely unlikely to solve this problem for anyone else

I'm also having the same problem, I've got it down the cloudflare blocking the connection (as i use a VPN on the box). Is there a way i can get SR to give me a small panel to get around the "im not a robot" so it will start to scanning again?

Also worth checking settings > general > Timeout show indexer at:

Mine was at 10, changing to the default 20 seems to help

Thanks a lot @Telperien2017 Got this issue with sickrage and sickgear. Disabled ipv6 and everything is fine now.
