Sorry for asking but how do i use the script to flash multiple shellys.
Not sure how to start it by the console.

./flash_script.sh -la to list all devices
./flash_script.sh -a to flash all devices, you can add y so you do not get ask for confirmation ./flash_script.sh -ay
./flash_script.sh -hfor more help on what the script can do.

@andyblac yes I used the zip above and replaced the old .sh in the tools folder. Just did it again (pull the .sh file onto Terminal app, add -ay and hit Enter) - here is the full output. Using MacOS 11 Big Sur Beta by the way... may this be an issue?

hmm, did you have Xcode installed at any time ? is there an update available for it?

Xcode should not be needed for script, but Big Sur thinks you previously had it installed, so it must have need to be updated. anyway let me know if script works when installed.

ahh no it's not accessible via web browser and also not responding in HomeKit... but my router shows it being connected. I will need to wait for the night when everybody sleeps so that I can cut the power of the living room ;-)

@andyblac FYI, in https://github.com/mongoose-os-apps/shelly-homekit/commit/ccc07452f04dec9e1fab1471dde6780faf2c08f5 i added stock_model to Shelly.GetInfo (now that web ui also needs it), so you can use that directly when constructing stock firmware URLs.

Good news working on a total rewrite of script in python that should make it compatible with windows 😄

Thank you for creating this script. I find it really useful and I only have 2 shellys installed (for now, I have 5 more for when I have the time!)

When I run the script, I always get duplicates for my devices.
Any idea?

edit: it seems your running the old bash script, try updating to the new python variant.

I would love to use the script for flashing all of my devices. But to be honest, i'm not really a computer freak.
I downloaded the zip and unpacked the file. Then i run phyton launcher and open in the tools folder the "flash_shelly.py". After that a Terminal window was opened. But nothing happen if i add any of the command in the wiki like ./flash_shelly.py -la . (Xcode is also installed.)

it always appears the following "Failed to lookup version information"
What did i wrong?

hi, 1st what OS are you on ? (macOS / Linux / Windows) ?

if your on macOS just open a Terminal window and type

./flash_shelly.py -la -v=0 and post results.

@andyblac i have tested different times 5, 10, 30, 60, 120. The result is always different. Sometimes all shellys were detected and sometimes not. i don't see any relationship.

for example i set 120s. all devices appear. i did a second round with the same value, and only 5 appear. In the 3 & 4 round also not all appear. sometimes no device appears, only the following

I just realized that it is the shelly that gives me "not available" problems.
It is the only shelly that is connected to another AP. I'm pretty sure it's a network problem ... but I don't know how to fix it.

yeah, definatly looks like a network issue, is the AP bridged via Wifi or via a LAN cable, are all AP's on the same SSID and same Channel ?

I have some news about this.

I have found that if I connect to the same ap that the missing shelly is connected. I run the script and it finds it ... and it also finds them all.
But I go back to the main ap and again it can't find the ones is connected to the other ap.

I'm going crazy ... but I'll get it fixed.
