Server: Rich workspaces not shown in desktop but will show on iOS client

I upgraded this week my Nextcloud 17 installation to Nextcloud 18.0.0
I was hoping to see the new Rich Workspaces. Unfortunate they are not shown.
However, on a iOS mobile client I can create notes etc.
After creation on the iOS Mobile they are still not visible on the desktop.

I searched support for what possible could cause this. In the left down corner on the desktop I can under settings switch on/off rich workspaces. Doesn't make any difference.

SETUP Servrer:
Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
Nextcloud 18.0.0

SETUP Client:
Apple macintosh MacOS Catalina
Safari or Firefox

How to access your browser console (Click to expand)

Chrome

Press either CTRL + SHIFT + J to open the “console” tab of the Developer Tools.
Alternative method:
1. Press either CTRL + SHIFT + I or F12 to open the Developer Tools.
2. Click the “console” tab.

Safari

Press CMD + ALT + I to open the Web Inspector.
See Chrome’s step 2. (Chrome and Safari have pretty much identical dev tools.)

IE9

Press F12 to open the developer tools.
Click the “console” tab.

Firefox

Press CTRL + SHIFT + K to open the Web console (COMMAND + SHIFT + K on Macs).

I also had this issue, upgraded from 17 to 18 and could not see anything related to workspaces in a browser. Though I was able to resolve it, thanks to @skjnldsv for pointing out Accessibility.

I had originally disabled the Accessibility app when first setting up my Nextcloud instance (v17) a month or so ago. Then I upgraded to 18 just last nigh. After the upgrade I could not see workspaces in the browser at all, though they would show in the iOS app just fine.

When I re-enabled the Accessibility app, workspaces now correctly show in the browser for me. There seems to be some sort of dependency issue with Files and Accessibility.

Ah the joys. Probably because we have no clean API for the filelist to handle this etc.
Or maybe the text app needs accessibility to know how to theme etc.

So short term we should probably force enable it.
But it also calls for a npm package to properly abstract from accesibility I think :wink:

Yes, there is some code to detect the dark mode, I'll make sure to properly check if the accessibility app is available in text.

Hi. I can confirm that once you enable the Accessibility App the Rich Workspaces are shown/enabled.
