I've been digging interfaces like this as of late:

Flat design with a mix of soft colours & brights.
The UI here isn't as interesting as the idea of a native dashboard rotation mechanism. Users could star their favorite dashboards, visit the Chartroulette tab, and it would automatically rotate through them on a defined interval. Great for TVs.

Note that I've always been a fan of trying to condense as much related information in as little space as possible to help the hoomans correlate their data. They're not always the prettiest but they're functionally powerful.
Some inspiration I have bookmarked, not necessarily all good but interesting concepts:

Nice ones. The problem I have with a lot of "pretty" UIs is how useless they become when you throw tons of data at them. Not all fail in this regard, but as you're surely aware, it's harder than it might seem.
Almost forgot about this one, easily one of the best _usable_ UIs I've encountered. Shame it was so specific to GitHub internal that they never open sourced it.
And to add to my previous comments about condensed data, we should absolutely try to get some form of heatmaps on our roadmap.
Not a fan of dark/dank dashboards.
@jamesdphillips For posterity, but I'm also closing this.
