Secret-hitler: Trial Moderation Application

This will be a test of your judgement and activeness. Afterwards, if deemed successful, you will be promoted to moderator. If not, you will be removed from the position.

As a trial mod, you will be expected to assess player reports and determine the appropriate action and then relay your judgement to the mod team by use of a #trial-mod private chat on discord. You will not be taking action yourself.

Screenshots definitely make moderating easier so you will also be given limited access to a seperate discord server for moderation, owned by RavenCaps, to post any screenshots.

On site you will have access to a report log just like on discord but with more info (please keep the additional info private) and, in lobby, will be able to see who created each game table. You will also have limited access to IPs through a player's profile.

You will not be expected to warn troublesome players, please leave this to moderators if available.

You will not be expected to participate on github issues, but bonus points if you do!

You will not be given a symbol or a special color for your username.

Very excited for this program, have been involved in online secret hitler since it's original release. I am one of the most active members on our discord and in sh.io and plan on remaining extremely active going forward.

I hope that I can help SH through the moderation team, but either way I intend on also working on the sites technical issues mentioned here on the Github. I am currently working on solutions to issue #758 and plan on picking up several other issues afterwards for the improvement of .io. Like the fellow members written above, I have thoroughly enjoyed being a member of the sh.io community, and I hope that with this application I may be given the opportunity in future to help further contribute to this site in anyway I can.

I have often strived to promote a culture of positivity and teamwork during my time in this community (bar a few lapses induced by gamer rage), and given my own personal background in mediation and negotiation, I believe I do have the right skillset to make a real difference.

i am very active almost everyday, i'd like to have an opportunity to be a mod, i've seen a lot of reports mostly lame and fake not very interesting. Anyway not just to handle a report but to teach some new players on how to play it and learn something so they don't get harassed or blacklisted by that reason.

I've helped a lot of reports on some games like this and it works out so i see why not here since i already played 600+ games here in sh.

Like CIAGuy and Hexicube I see too many toxic players in the non- rainbow lobbies which sours an otherwise very great community! Although I still have to meet a good half of this community, the half I have seen is a very nice group to be with.

Although I have had experiences with being AFK (me myself and I), I do have and have had experiences with very toxic players, including Gamethrowers, flat out toxicity, and the other typical experiences players are reported for. I know some of the community may have issues with me, but I am overall very nice and love to do what's necessary. I know the popular/nice players in the community, and I 2nd what Nopeth said. I do agree that the people above are all great candidates for Test Mods.

PS: I do agree the Experienced side of players are mostly very positive and enjoyable to be around/play with!

PSS: I do know a lot of the mods and enjoy their different play styles xD.

Being a long-time fan of the game, and fascist aficionado, it would be my honor to be selected as a moderator. It is rather frustrating when games devolve into chaotic personal attacks, and it would be my first mission to significantly dampen said attacks. But I am a huge fan of the game, and might have some ideas for deviations from the original formula, such as game modes and other ideas that could get more users interested into the game.
