Scratch-www: Migrating From DjangoBB

Created on 19 Aug 2020  Â·  7Comments  Â·  Source: LLK/scratch-www

DjangoBB hasn't had a commit since 2017. It also doesn't use react, which all modern scratch pages use. I think we should switch to a newer program.

@ljy-002 If you are confused, DjangoBB is what is used to power the Scratch Forums.

...dude, what's the point of this issue? Migrating from Django is exactly what this entire repo is about, it's just that not all of the pages are migrated yet, and there will be separate issues for each of them, not one big issue just saying "migrate". This is too broad to be a legit issue.

It's actually not that broad. I'm talking specifically about the forums, which are the only pages that use DjangoBB

As far as I know, all of scratchr2 is built with Django, including things like profile pages (I found the telltale csrfmiddlewaretoken hidden form field). If you mean the forums, say the forums! (You can change the issue title, in case you're not aware.)

@Kenny2github, DjangoBB is a forum software. 😛 You must have thought @GrahamSH-LLK is talking about Django (the Python framework which DjangoBB is made with).

We don't have current plans to migrate the forums from scratchr2, so I'm going to close this for the time being. We don't use DjangoBB itself, we use our own fork.
