Sceneform-android-sdk: custom material integration for android studio

Would be great to have the usual editor functionality one gets for Java also for a .mat file, like proper syntax completion, error highlighting and selected variable highlighting.

Even better would be a live shader preview.

Amazing would be a shader debugger like apple introduced this summer for metal.

I know you can't comment on not yet publicly introduced products, but getting better functionality around custom material would be welcome.

That is actually pretty neat to have. Looking forward to it.
Felt always jealous when I saw what the blender guys managed to create with the node editor there.

Realtime vertex and fragment shader preview would be separate from this, right?

It's part of it, you can see it in the screenshots. Editing the material automatically update a live preview.

Hi there

As Michael says, in orden to use ARCore+Sceneform as a real world production framework, we need a material (sfm / mat) authoring tool (or plugin for main 3D Tools) for the artist guys and girls.

In our current developments the lack of such a tool is revealing as a real production nightmare.

Is this kind of tool a milestone in the future releases plan?
