Sceneform-android-sdk: Access to sub meshes

Created on 7 Aug 2018  路  3Comments  路  Source: google-ar/sceneform-android-sdk

We have a lot of 3d models with multiple sub meshes. I saw Sceneform lets me have the starting /end index of the meshes in the renderableData but doesn't actually let me access and manipulate those.

Few of the use case I encountered the need for the above were:
The models had the shadow planes included and I was trying to compute the bounding box of the product itself, but because of the shadow planes and the inability of ignoring those at runtime I get incorrect bounding box size.

Second, different actions, sounds based on which part of the mesh is ray casted / touched upon.

A feature request:
Ability to access those meshes in renderableData, and manipulate / hide / show / ignore some of the sub meshes.
