Feel like it used to be easier to get set up to contribute to .NET Core projects. I remember the days where things "just worked" but Arcade seems to cause loads of errors :(
cross ref https://github.com/dotnet/winforms/issues/1230
Can you still repro this one? If yes, can you please add the /bl option and upload the binlog here?
Yeah I could reproduce this in the following situation:
dotnet msbuild ... instead of <repo-root>/.dotnet/dotnet msbuild ...Guessing the first half is not a supported scenario?
What I did was uninstall .NET Core completely from my mac using the https://github.com/dotnet/cli/blob/master/scripts/obtain/uninstall/dotnet-uninstall-pkgs.sh script.
Then I'm building like: /Users/hugh/Documents/GitHub/corefx/.dotnet/dotnet msbuild /T:BuildAndTest
Which dotnet version have you had installed? The minimum required version is 3.0.0-preview6 (https://github.com/dotnet/corefx/blob/master/Documentation/building/windows-instructions.md) - I know this points to the windows instructions, we should probably put that into a more centralized place.
The first half is supported if the locally installed dotnet meets the minimum requirements

I previously had 2.2.0 installed - this may have been the problem!
Oh right, you need at least 3.0-preview6. I'll close this issue.
Amazing! I was under the impression that we symlinked the relevant SDK into the /usr/local/share/dotnet folder - at least I saw that in the output. How come therefore we can't use dotnet like we used to be able to before arcade?
You can use as it used to be before arcade. There was always a min version requirement, it just wasn't that important before as with 3.0.
Let me know if you need more help or if you think we update our docs :)
hi,
I have removed the line below in my csproj file. Worked.
<RuntimeIdentifier>win-x64</RuntimeIdentifier>
