i have setup SMTP using bluehost information, however no email notification ?? can you please help with the setup??
this has worked before..

This doesn't seem to be all SMTP as our demo server still works. But i've verified in his case the information is valid. Also worked just prior to the update when on 0.48.1
Any error on the logs?
No error logs, email simply stopped working.. am using now 1and1 hosting email from a friend.. not sure why bluehost got the issue. now/ ??
@IQ2022 lets sync on the demo server maybe tomorrow. And try these settings again in and old environment just to check once again that it really stopped working because of Rocket.Chat and not because of something on bluehost's end.
okay lets do that.. am ready to test bluehost and will even create an account for testing and all.. let me know..
@IQ2022 did you configure MAIL_URL env too?
I believe when working with @IQ2022 it was purely via the admin interface

We have the same issue here with bluehost.
No error logs, all seem fine, but mail notification doesnt work. I've configured a gmail account in our rocket.chat's smtp via admin and works fine.
Any update on this issue?
I've just experienced similar issue on a host that blocks outbound mail. Its very possible they now block outbound email via port 465 and others. Worth checking.
hi guys, i think is not a bluehost issue. i've test the bluehost's smtp settings "Private (with SSL)" in this testing page http://smtper.nanogenesis.fr/ and in my RC server.
When use the port 465 give an error in the testing page, not from RC.
When use the port 25 instead, I receive a mail from the testing page, but nothing from the RC, doesnt give any error message, RC confirmed that the mail was sent.
Send emails via SMTP/S provider fails with an login error. Works fine with a webmailer or thunderbird account. So looks like a RocketChat issue?
I think so, Rocket.Chat is not configuring properly the from field in the emails.

Rocket.Chat is ignoring the From Email attribute in the Administration panel.
Did you restart after? I think might be needed. From field for sure works. I use it very often :)
