the Desktop Client announced version 3.10.5 but I'm in Ubuntu 20.04 so it is installed via 'snap':

Indeed, we are also getting security risk warnings on our RocketChar server and the latest is 3.9.3:

Announcements are for the server, the current client release is 3.1.1.
However, the snap releases are indeed out of date , see #1899
So, this issue seems duplicate of #1899.
