App Version: 2.10.5
[x] I have tested with the latest version
I have 4 _Rocket.Chat+ Helper_ processes running. 3 with each ~40MB memory consumption and one Helper with ~1GB. Also there is the _Rocket.Chat+_ process with ~70MB memory consumption. So in total running the client consumes around 1.2 GB of ram.
PS: In my contact list there are <20 contacts and 10 groups.
Use a 'decent' amount of ram.
Hey @G00fY2 we know that this is way too much, it is a known issue with Electron based apps that have a problem of being greedy in relation to the user's RAM. We are looking into ways to improve the memory management inside the app.
Thanks.
The server uses a lot of RAM after a couple days active without user load.
I did a "top" to check who was using ~10GB RAM and it was a mongod process called by the rocketchat-server PID . The Swap memory was full too.
@rafaelcarrillo-prodigia for server and general web app issues, please see Rocket.Chat repository.
Hello,
Any improvement here ? Thank you !
Hello,
Any news ?
Any update on this issue? (Rocket Chat version 2.15.3 / Ubuntu 19.04 )
We all agree that 1GiB RAM is definitely not acceptable, compared to other processes:

A normal machine has only a handfull of GiB or RAM (8 or 16)
same here

my mac

Since my last update to Ubuntu 20.04 with Rocket.chat 2.17.9, I dont get this issue anymore: about 300MB or RAM (for all processes) after few days of use.
Hello. Still the same problem, 1GB used under Catalina 10.15.6 and RC 2.17.11. Any news ?
