Roadmap: [Docker Hub] Allow setting "category" tag for official images

On DockerHub's "Explore" interface, official images can be filtered by category:

For example: https://hub.docker.com/search?category=application_infrastructure&type=image&image_filter=official

But there doesn't seem to be any way for maintainers of official images to specify which categories an image should be listed in.

Tell us about the problem you're trying to solve. What are you trying to do, and why is it hard?

I'd like to list the new caddy official image in the application_infrastructure category. It's not so much "hard" as "impossible" 😉

@hairyhenderson we are chatting about this :) being open, we did this as a hackathon earlier in the year but are looking if what we did is good enough that we could put out 🤔
if it isn't this may be a way off, but give us a few more days to play around with what we produced to see if we can get it prod ready :)
