Does this project end up unmainatined too now? When the original RNFB lost its maintainer (because of sudden unexplained absence and no reaction even to private emails) you guys volunteered to take over... well, that didn't last long.
Maybe there is someone out there who is a) capable of doing the job but also b) not surprised by the amount of work that has to be put in (for nothing)? Basically, a maintainer that heavily uses the code themselves so that (the non-existent) extrinsic motivation is not a factor.

Should get moved into the react native community repos, maybe it can get some love there. I find this library extremely useful and it's 3-4 times faster with file operations than the others, please don't let it die.
