One of the first things I do on every new installation is to re-install the resource search page in the main menu. I use it all the time.

Some of these have been introduced with the new searchbar, other are just too specific to be any value the way I see it (like date_start). The new searchbox searches in most of the suggested fields.

While the new search bar could be pretty handy, it definitely lacks those "advanced search" features.

In 2.3, there remain the "old" search page (hidden action in ?a=search) which still have some more advanced search features.

Those requests/suggestion would definitely fit there.

What about making the search bar able to search with more advanced "operators", e.g. something like "id:123" would search for resource with id=123 (yeah, what about elements, should they be id-searchable?)...just as an example as the id is something i quite often search for (many times in error logs or console logs when emptying cache etc., resource ids are given in the messages and then it's quite annoying to find them =D...and yes, I then use a=search...)

Search page now is hidden (in 2.7.0). If search page will be removed in later versions, this issue is not actual.

The search functionality really needs some improvement. Removing the search results page is odd.

Same here. I was really surprised this was removed. Even so, this search feature could be improved. It's a little buggy: to edit anything in the results list, if you right-click on it nothing happens at first; you have to click on it once first, _then_ the right click edit option is available. Also, there's no way to edit a resource in the list, then go back to the results after editing; there's no way to open the desired resource in a new tab, and hitting the back button after editing a resource takes you to a new, blank search form. As it is now, if I want to edit a bunch of resources, I have to open a new tab, edit one resource, then manually enter the resource ID number of the next one I want to edit into the manager URL.
