This extension hides pushes for example, and I would like to keep seeing them.

You can use Stylish to display them again:

.news .alert.push {
    display: block !important;
}

Good solution, I will uninstall the extension instead then.

To each their own, we don't earn anything from your installation :)

This "feature" is not documented in readme, and is too opinionated compared to some of the other features.

I agree with that and would like to make the news feed changes configurable. Is there more supoort for that to reopen?

Re-showing them is almost as easy as setting an option, it's not a JS feature that destroys the DOM irreparably. Honestly the only existing option could as well be removed for the same reason.

There's so much happening in the feed, before you know it someone will request an option for it. I'm not against options specifically but this is too easy to undo.

I agree that we shouldn't force this on users. You could use that same argument for removing this functionality altogether and let users hide the items themselves if it's so easy. Either that or make an option for it.

@jgierer12 it's easy to get to that conclusion, but Sindre mentioned this extension is supposed to offer an iPhone-like curated experience: install once, use the best defaults. It's up to the power users to go and tweak it with CSS or by forking it. Having to copy-paste separate chunks of CSS to have the "core" functionality doesn't follow that philosophy. But then again I'm just repeating what I read he said earlier.

Being an ever-larger extension we're bound to have more requests like this one. I wouldn't terribly mind splitting the extension in multiple reasonable pieces though.

If you're interested in Newsfeed customizations for example try my https://github.com/bfred-it/github-clean-feed. It's not shy of options, being focused on the Newsfeed only. It might need a PR to restore the pushes still.

I don't mind having to use Stylish to change this behavior, but I would agree that it should be documented somewhere; whether it's the README or a GitHub wiki. It's kinda odd that I had to search the issues to find out what had happened to these events and how to fix it.

It's there https://github.com/sindresorhus/refined-github#customization

What you're saying makes sense, but documenting each and every change and how to undo it is way too much work, especially considering that docs can easily get outdated. It's easier to look into the source and undo the change.
