Very happy to see what you come up with.

We had a cute '50s-Sci-Fi-style ray-gun internally but this was deemed potentially offensive. Some kind of spring could be good. Or just something totally abstract.

• Incorporates the spring/recoil visual connotation
• Expresses the idea of atoms updating state across components (two dots in separate locations, but connected)
• Tried to make sure the colour and stroke blends in with the rest of the family
• Can be squished down into a favicon

• balanced shape
• visually congruent, yet different from other logos, no matter which direction it is viewed from (e.g. laptop sticker)
• won't be confused with relay (doesn't rely on color)
• has an emoji 🌀 that’s pretty similar
• good favicon
• kind of looks like an r

Just to put another idea out there, I think a series of diagonal lines or curves could be a great logo. Coils when viewed from the side make a really interesting sinuous shape, some function that probably (I don't know) has both trig and polynomial terms. Looking at just one or two turns of the coil could make a really unique shape. Or a more abstracted version could just be some bold diagonal lines, yet still suggestive of that projection of a coil.

@davidmccabe Unfortunately, I was unable to come up with anything around the escapement. I'm spending too much time on this and have other things to do so I will leave you with a final, but unrelated idea, that I came up with of a slinky in the shape of a lowercase r.

Loving all the ideas! Sorry we've been so quiet on this thread lately, lots going on trying to get the library started and going in a good direction. We definitely appreciate all the prototypes and will have to figure out a good selection process once we have a chance to breathe. ;)
