Hi, I;m following the ExampleRealmTest in order to write my test cases. However I'm getting following error:

I have many things in my app build.gradle file but my unit tests are not here. I just added apply plugin: 'realm-android' at the top of file.

I have an SDK module the acts as library for app module. Its build.gradle file contains

  2. You are importing RealmLog from import io.realm.log.RealmLog; while I import if from import io.realm.internal.log.RealmLog; (when I hit Alt+Enter this library finds).

Create a package in your project called rx

And create a class in package rx called Observable

And just leave it there like that and test again

Thanks @Zhuinden,

  1. I created those package and class under my SDK module but I got same error as above (root/SDK/src/main/java//rx).
  2. Then created same package and class under its test folder but got same error message (root/SDK/src/test/java//rx).
  3. Finally created same package and class under app module but got same error message above.

Okay, that seems to be a Robolectric bug: https://github.com/robolectric/robolectric/issues/2208

Solution seems to be to revert to Robolectric 3.0

EDIT from the future (2017-08-11): this bug in Robolectric was fixed in 3.3.1

@Zhuinden thanks, good catch, I tried to downgrade my Robolectric version from 3.1.2 to 3.0 and my test passed. Awesome. So, that is bug in latest version of Robolectric. Thanks again for the help :+1:

Had similar issue after upgrading to 4.0 with my test cases. Was fixed by adding rxjava2 to test dependency:
