React-native: 'openURL:options:completionHandler:' is unavailable: not available on iOS (App Extension)

I'm getting this error whenever i try to build the app, it was working fine on 0.57.3, but after upgrading to the latest version (0.60.4), I started getting this error.

You need to add use_native_modules! to both targets (App & Share Extension) and add it to your podfile:

RCTSharedApplication is disabled when in App Extension:

I've tried to remove Linking from Pods, but I had no luck.

@diegolmello are you getting any warning after running pod install? I was getting following warning:

[!] The [Release]target overrides theALWAYS_EMBED_SWIFT_STANDARD_LIBRARIESbuild setting defined in<.xcconfig location>'. This can lead to problems with the CocoaPods installation
- Use the $(inherited) flag, or
- Remove the build settings from the target.`

Solved it by adding:

post_install do |installer_representation| installer_representation.pods_project.targets.each do |target| target.build_configurations.each do |config| config.build_settings['ALWAYS_EMBED_SWIFT_STANDARD_LIBRARIES'] = '$(inherited)' end end end

to my podfile just before

use_native_modules!

Below should also work with share extensions. So you don't have to copy/paste the react pods twice. It's just easier to maintain:

And have $(inherited) with non-recursive on both the main target and extension target in Header Search Paths.

For Linking i've also added $(SRCROOT)/../node_modules/react-native/Libraries/LinkingIOS with recursive in the Header Search Path

One workaround is to set this flag to false in your extension's build settings.

@Jnlbr this code set Require Only App-Extension-Safe API to false on all Pod dependencies.

@djorkaeffalexandre It does not work for me. I am trying to use OneSignalNotificationServiceExtension set up according to manual https://documentation.onesignal.com/docs/ios-sdk-setup.
When I use your solution I get another pack of errors (200+) about Mach-O Linker
