Try executing
npm install react-native-vector-icons@latest --save
Even that npm installs 2.1.0 version, there is no SimpleLineIcons.js file.
It was merged in to master yesterday, not yet released to npm. If you need it now install from source instead by running npm install oblador/react-native-vector-icons --save.
@oblador got you. But why you didn't update version after a merge, so it would be clear that npm has old version of your package?
It was literally less than one day ago lol, software is seldom released after every commit. I'm doing potentially breaking changes in master so don't want to release a new version until I'm done.
@oblador well, i think you should reconsider your opinion on that matter. If i look at your master branch, and see one set of changes with one version, and then i look at your npm package with another set of changes with the SAME version, it would be very, very confusing. If you updated version for example to 2.1.1, i would have understood that npm package is not up to date, and i save myself 20 minutes.
This also caused issues for me. Uninstalled the npm package and installed from source, but the icons failing to load properly.
Update: added this to the gradle file, rebuilt everything, and all was good:
apply from: "../../node_modules/react-native-vector-icons/fonts.gradle"
It's now released in 3.0.0.
No, issue is not closed. As long as you are going to keep doing this, issue is not closed. By your incompetent actions as maintainer of this library you are wasting our time, just by not wanting to change fucking npm version in one file when you push in master so we know there was un UPDATE!
Wow you sure are entitled. Consider that I'm very busy and was up until 2.30 AM to get this release out. You sir are wasting my time and I don't get why you are complaining and being abusive now that I just fixed your problem.
@oblador you have all the time in the world, no need to hurry anywhere. Just update the version when you push in master, otherwise you will spend again hours of somebody's time. I am not complaining, i am trying to make the web better. I don't want somebody to suffer again as i did just because there is inconsistency between npm package and master branch.
How is cursing and calling me incompetent for caring about not breaking peoples installations making the web better? I tag every NPM release so you can see exactly on every commit what versions they are in. I gave you specific instructions on how to install from source and now there a version out on NPM – what more do you want from me?
I'm with @oblador on this one -- your tone and approach are way out of line @nezaidu, regardless of how valid your assertions are.
@oblador, thanks for clearing up the confusion.
@oblador I'm sorry for @nezaidu he recognized that he was wrong.
He asked me to apologize.
Looks like someone had a bad day:)
Yo dawg, Im super late to this chat. But anyways I just wanted to say that @oblador has other stuff to do, remember he is no jobless dude, he has to work and eat and like do human stuff man. Cut him some slack, he is making a product for you that you are using. Best you can say is thank you.
Hacker2008 is signing out, peace
